News Update Staff Contact List MAY/JUNE 2013 News Update Welcome to Andrew Robinson, who was recently co-opted to the Near Media Co-op Committee of Management. Andrew, as many of you will know, is the presenter and producer of The Brief on Nearfm. Congratulations also to our radio coordinator Sally Galliana who was recently elected as President of AMARC Europe, the body which represents community radio across Europe. And many congratulations to Ciaran Murray, Near Media Co-op Project Coordinator who was elected President of the Community Media Forum of Europe (CMFE). So, lots of good news to AMARC Europe President Sally Galliana and the newly celebrate and this edition of the newsletter has elected Committee, lots more good news stories. We’ve been busy investigating this matter and having engaged a solicitor and an expert in Data breaches, we are confident that progress is being made. We expect a result very soon. In the meantime, we remind you to be careful about passwords and email access. This is the opportunity for shareholders to take that opportunity. All other staff and volunteers are also welcome to attend as guests. Just over 900,000 Adults 18+ are currently served by 24 fully licenced Community Radio stations - Red C and Grey Heron Media 2012 MAY/JUNE 2013 Studio Output Levels The ideal meter level on the studio mixer is 6. Next time you are in the studio have a look at the levels when you talk and playback music and then look at the levels when the promo’s start...this will give you some idea of the output. Use your headphones to monitor the levels. Otherwise you risk being very loud, or indeed very quiet, and listeners will tune out. All levels have been preset to the 12 o’clock position on the trims (volume knobs)...and if really need to adjust anything it should be adjusted from here (but you shouldn’t need to adjust any levels!!) Under no circumstances should any presenter adjust output levels from any of the studio computers. If you notice a problem tell Sally or Gay. Levels are set for a Computers are funny things. And don’t forget that we are now announcing the station as Nearfm. And the frequency? 90.3!! Never – ever – leave the studio with nobody there.     To the Lord Mayor and Report No. 04/2020 Members of Dublin City Council Report of the Assistant Chief Executive _________________________________________________________________________ Dublin City Community Enhancement Programme and Men’s Shed Funding 2019 On 27th March the Community Enhancement Programme 2019 was launched by Minister Michael Ring, TD and formal notification and departmental guidelines were issued to the Chief Officer of the LCDC on 5th April 2019. The Department of Rural and Community Development allocated €212,306 to the Dublin City Local Community Development Committee (LCDC) for the awarding of capital grants to local community and voluntary groups, not for profit organisations and State departments or agencies. A Sub-Committee of the then LCDC Committee met on 18th April to agree how to proceed with the programme in Dublin City and set the following criteria against which applications would be assessed: Potential of the proposed project to contribute to the achievement of Goal 2 of the Dublin City Local Economic and Community Plan 2016-2021: – “Work in partnership with communities to promote social inclusion, tackle poverty and disadvantage, and promote participation, empowerment and positive social change.” Priority to be given to groups or organisations working in areas of disadvantage or with individuals or communities impacted by disadvantage (assessment will rely equally on Pobal small area maps and local knowledge). Prioritise community and voluntary groups working at a local level. Geographical balance and desirability to fund a variety of projects. Demonstrated need for the project and number of people that will benefit. Demonstrated collaboration with other organisations. The scheme was open for applications from 10 May to 14 June 2019.

    Broadcasting Authority of lreland Review of the Operation, Effectiveness and lmpact of the Archiving Scheme Report to the Minister for Communications, Glimate Action and Environment August 2017 Report on Archiving Scheme August 2017 1. lntroduction Section 158 of the Broadcasting Act 2009 ("the Act") provides that the Broadcasting Authority of lreland ("the BAl") shall review the operation, effectiveness and impact of a Broadcasting (Funding) Scheme not later than 3 years from the passing of the Act (July 2009), and every three years thereafter, and make a written report to the Minister for Communications Energy and Natural Resources ("the Minister") on the review. The Archiving Scheme ("the Scheme") was established in May 2012furlher to Section 15a (1)(e) of the Act. As the Scheme did not exist at the time of the establishment of the Act, the question of a review in accordance with section 158 (1) did not arise at that time. The Scheme seeks to contribute to the preservation of lreland's broadcasting heritage and a record of lrish culture, heritage and experience by supporting the development of an archiving culture in the lrish broadcasting sector. The Scheme was initially approved until the end of December 2014 and two rounds were run during this period. Following consultation with the Department of Communications, Energy and Natural Resources, the Scheme was granted an extension by the Minister until the 30th April 2016 and one further round was run during this period. ln the last quarter of 2016, the BAI undertook a review of the Scheme, as required under Section 158 of the Act and in accordance with the rules of the Scheme.

    NOVEMBER/DECEMBER 2011 News Update Welcome to the final edition of our regular news updates for 2011. This is an opportunity for volunteers and staff to catch up on what’s happening in Near. The newsletter is distributed every two months via email, online and good old fashioned hard copy. It’s been another exceptionally busy year for Near Media Co Op across all our platforms. We have gained new volunteers, and thankfully we have managed to retain our compliment of staff. Our last training course in fact, which finished last week attracted almost 30 applicants, which is a sign of the popularity of our training and our community media project as a Staff Contact List whole. We were out and about broadcasting, recording and promotion our community radio station, at the Raheny Festival, the Near90fm Alan Murray 20/20 Cricket Cup, over at the Axis in Ballymun and in we celebrated the 1,000 edition of Northside2Day with a three day broadcast from the Shopfront Studio in Temple Bar, just to name a few. Near TV was also there, recording the Friday edition of the Staff Conatct List programme, for transmission on DCTV that th TV Coordinator – [email protected] 8485211 afternoon. This week sees the 16 Birthday of Near90fm. Older staff and volunteers will of Radio Coordinator – [email protected] 8671190 course remember the days of Nearfm 101.5 and Nearfm 101.6 broadcasting from a few rooms Technical & Studio Issues – [email protected] 8671190 upstairs in the Coolock Development Centre. We‟ve come a long way since then, but only Technology & Website – [email protected] 8671190 because of the ongoing support of our volunteers and staff.
