Globally, CO2 emissions from freight transport are growing at a faster rate than passenger vehicles. As freight activity in the United States increases, projections are that during this same time frame, growth in greenhouse gas emissions from freight will exceed growth in greenhouse emissions from all other transportation activities.1 To combat these emissions and health effects, U.S. EPA has established partnership programs that spur innovation, drive cost savings, and encourage effciency improvements for feet owners, operators, manufacturers, and others throughout the transportation sector.
