    2018/19 Das Jahrbuch des Grasshopper Club Zürich Vorwort // 3 Entscheid liegt die (späte) Einsicht zu Grunde, dass sich sport- licher Erfolg nicht kaufen lässt – selbst mit schieren 14 Millio- nen nicht. Zürich bietet für den Spitzenfussball vergleichsweise schlech- te Bedingungen, zumindest solange kein geeignetes Stadion steht. Die Perspektiven für GC sind darum heute alles andere als rosig und mit Blick auf die Zukunft müssen wir uns einge- stehen, dass GC Fussball auf dem in den letzten 20 Jahren be- gangenen, äusserst kostspieligen Weg gescheitert ist. Wenn GC im Schweizer Spitzenfussball in den kommenden Jahren wieder an vergangene Erfolge anknüpfen will, gilt es jetzt, die wohl letzte Chance zu nutzen. Abseits medialer Gewitter und Liebe Grasshopper Shitstorms in sozialen Medien muss sich der GC neu erfinden und auf den Weg der Vernunft besinnen.
