Connectivity for students who have difficulty with /Wi-Fi access March 2020

While the college cannot guarantee the actual strength of connectivity with several providers or the deals they are providing, the following vendors are offering opportunities to gain connectivity to the Internet and/or Wi-Fi as follows:

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has implemented the FCC agreement stating that providers will waive late fees, not cutoff service for lack of payment, and open hotspots. Many of the providers are signing off on this agreement.

Comcast • will offer free Wi-Fi for 2 months to low income families • All hotspots are free to the public during this time • For a map of Xfinity Wi-Fi hotspots, visit www.xfinity.com/wifi. Once at a hotspot, consumers should select the “xfinitywifi” network name in the list of available hotspots, and then launch a browser • Contact https://corporate.comcast.com/covid-19 for more information

Charter Communications • Charter will offer free and Wi-Fi access for 60 days to households with K-12 and/or college students who do not already have a Spectrum broadband subscription and at any service level up to 100 Mbps. • To enroll call 1-844-488-8395. Installation fees will be waived for new student households. • Charter will open its Wi-Fi hotspots footprint for public use. • Spectrum does not have data caps or hidden fees. • More information about Charter can be found at corporate.charter.com.

AT & T • AT & T will offer open hot-spots, unlimited data to existing customers, and $10/month plans to low income families

Verizon • does not have any special offers, but is following the FCC Agreement. • Contact Verizon COVID-19 response for more information

Sprint • Sprint is following the FCC Agreement • Sprint will provide unlimited data to existing customers • Will allow all handsets to enable hot-spots for 60 days at no extra charge • Contact Sprint COVID-19 response for more information T-Mobile
