Please describe the area: The 3 Parishes of Acton, Edleston and Henhull are combined for administration purposes. The northern side of the Parish is bound by main roads A534 and A51 excluding Reaseheath College buildings. The eastern and southern boundaries follow the and a centre line through Nantwich Lake. The western boundaries are mainly fields and a small brook. The majority of the land use in that area is agricultural grassland with limited woodland and some arable farming. There is one village, Acton, with a church, village hall, school and until recently a public house. There is also a small business centre associated with Nantwich Marina Canal Basin and the Dorfold Estate. The remainder is predominantly dairy farming together with scattered houses along the roads and lanes that run through the parishes. The parishes are also crossed by several footbaths and bridle ways including sections of the Nantwich circular walk and the All Saints Way.

Please explain why this area is considered to be appropriate to be designated as a neighbourhood area: The Parish of Acton, Edleston and Henhull is a well defined historical area with the village of Acton being designated a Conservation Area with 2 Grade 1 listed buildings, St Mary’s Church and Dorfold Hall and a designated battlefield site for the historical Battle of Nantwich. There are also several Grade 2 building and ancient monuments within its boundaries. Acton Village also has a Conservation Area Appraisal Plan which includes reasons for designation and characteristics of the area and mentions the significance of the long distance views of the village and particularly the church.
