Spaces may not be occupied until after 3:00 PM on Friday, September 3, 2021. Spaces must be vacated immediately after Best in Show judging on Sunday, September 5, 2021. Confirmations will be sent by e-mail or post cards; passes will be issued at show site. Please note, Generators must be turned off by 11:00 PM as a courtesy. We will charge for vehicles left overnight in parking area occupied or not. RESERVATION FORMS MAY BE FOUND ON PAGE 15 PICK-A-POOP RAFFLE Win a prize for being a conscientious pet owner and helping to keep our Clubs' showgrounds clean. For every baggie of dog poop deposited in a certain container receive a raffle ticket good towards dog oriented prizes raffled throughout the day. "Exhibitors should follow their veterinarians' recommendation to assure their dogs are free of internal and external parasites, any communicable diseases, and have appropriate vaccinations". To find out about any AKC event cancellations call the AKC Event Cancellation Hotline 877-252-3229. RAMP INFO A judge requesting the use of a ramp must give notice to the show superintendent/show secretary prior to judging. AKC approval is not required. The entire entry in a breed is to be examined in the same manner (ground, table or ramp). In an emergency situation, where use of a ramp is not indicated in the premium list, an exhibitor has the option of withdrawing their entry and receiving a refund. For the judging of juniors the ramp may be used at the discretion of the judge for the ramp optional breeds - ROUTES TO THE SHOW - From the NORTH / NORTHEAST: Take Rt 1 South to Rt. 3 West from Belfast to Belmont (approximately 7 miles on Rt 3). Turn left on Rt. 131 South to Union (approximately 15 miles) Turn left on Rt. 17, then immediate right (Common Road). Union Fairgrounds is on the right 0.1 mile. From the EAST - CAMDEN / ROCKLAND AREA: Take Rt. 17 West to Union (approximately 12 miles). Turn left on Common Road directly across from Union Farm Equipment. Union Fairgrounds is on the right 0.1 mile. From the WEST - AUGUSTA: Take Rt 17 East toward Rockland. In Union (approximately 25 miles), turn right on Common Road, directly across from Union Farm Equipment. Union Fairgrounds is on the right (approximately 0.1 mile). AUTO - From the SOUTH - COASTAL ROUTE: Take Rt 1 North through Waldoboro. Turn left on Rt. 235 North (approximately 1 mile North of Waldoboro village) to Union (approximately 9 miles). At the Union Common, turn left (Common Road). Union Fairgrounds is on the left (approximately 0.5 miles). RV - From the SOUTH - COASTAL ROUTE: Take Rt 1 North through Waldoboro. Turn left on Rt. 220 (traffic light at Moody's diner). Follow 220 North approximately 10 miles to Rt. 17. Turn right (east) onto Rt. 17. Travel approximately 5 miles and turn right onto Common Road. Fairgrounds is on right 0.1 mile. AUTO and RV's From the SOUTH OR NORTH - Take I-95 to exit 113 (Route 3 East toward Belfast). Go straight thru intersection and across bridge. Go straight thru next two lights. At the fourth light from the interstate exit, take a right onto Church Hill Road. At the stop light, go straight thru the intersection onto Cony Street. At the next light take a left onto Route 17. Go approximately 20 miles. Take a right onto Common Road (directly across from Union Farm Equipment). Go approximately 0.1 miles. Union Fairgrounds is on the right. 2 Dear Exhibitor: We are pleased to offer you two all-breed shows. The Union Fair Grounds will be the site of the events. It offers plenty of parking with RV sites offering both electricity and water hook-ups. Hotels are just 20 minutes away with plenty of shopping, restaurants and site seeing in beautiful Maine. Late Summer is a beautiful time to visit Maine; the ocean, beaches and campgrounds are all within easy reach. Freeport Maine is on the way and offers a shopper's paradise of outlets, including LL Bean. Portland Maine is a beautiful city and many people love browsing in the Old Port district with it's unique Character. Every year our motel list grows smaller and smaller due to a few exhibitors who abuse the priviledge of keeping dogs in their rooms. Exhibitors abusing motel priviledges are subject to action by the Bench Show Committee, per Chapter 5, Section 2 of "Rules Applying to Registration and Discipline". CLEAN UP AFTER YOUR DOGS. DO NOT LEAVE THEM UNCRATED IN YOUR ROOMS AND BE CONSIDERATE TO OTHER GUESTS AT THE MOTEL. THANK YOU. Help us to ensure motels will allow dogs next year. The Show Committee WHEN MAKING RESERVATIONS, PLEASE CHECK IF DOGS ARE ALLOWED MAKE HOTEL/MOTEL RESERVATIONS EARLY AS THE SHOW SITE IS LOCATED NEAR THE COAST OF MAINE WHICH DRAWS A HIGH VOLUME OF TOURISTS. In fact some accommodations normally on our list may already be full! Mid-Coast Kennel Club would like to thank our exhibitors for being considerate guests, as we have had very positive comments from our hotels/motels that welcome you back each year. As always, please remember to clean up after your dog, do not leave them unattended in your room and be considerate to the other guests. Exhibitors abusing hotel/motel privileges are subect to action by the Bench Show Committee per Chapter 5, Section 2 of "Rules Applying to Registration/Discipline." Dogs must be removed immediately after Best in Show judging. Maine state law prohibits smoking in public buildings & under tents. Private exercise pens will be allowed only in designated areas and none will be allowed or permitted in the grooming areas (if provided). Bring your own chairs. Crates under center of conformation tent only during that breed's judging. Do Not block entrance or gates. We will charge for vehicles left overnight in the parking area occupied or not. Crates and/or tables cannot obstruct aisles or ring entrances.
