RAMP INFO A judge requesting the use of a ramp must give notice to the show superintendent/show secretary prior to judging. AKC approval is not required. 2 Dear Exhibitor: We are pleased to offer you two all-breed shows. The Union Fair Grounds will be the site of the events. It offers plenty of parking with RV sites offering both electricity and water hook-ups. Hotels are just 20 minutes away with plenty of shopping, restaurants and site seeing in beautiful Maine. Late Summer is a beautiful time to visit Maine; the ocean, beaches and campgrounds are all within easy reach. Freeport Maine is on the way and offers a shopper's paradise of outlets, including LL Bean. Portland Maine is a beautiful city and many people love browsing in the Old Port district with it's unique Character. Every year our motel list grows smaller and smaller due to a few exhibitors who abuse the priviledge of keeping dogs in their rooms. Exhibitors abusing motel priviledges are subject to action by the Bench Show Committee, per Chapter 5, Section 2 of "Rules Applying to Registration and Discipline". CLEAN UP AFTER YOUR DOGS. NOVICE CLASS: For Boys and Girls who are at least 9 years and under 18 years old on the day of the show and who, at the time entries close, have not won three First Places, with competition present, in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show.

OPEN CLASS: For Boys and Girls who are at least 9 years and under 18 years old on the day of the show and who, at the time entries close, have won three First Places, with competition present, in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show. MASTERS CLASS: For boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years on the day of the show, and who have won the 10 Best Junior wins with competition. The calendar for this class will be consistent with the eligibility dates for the AKC National Championship. All Juniors meeting the criteria for this class are required to enter the Master Class and must change their entry the day of the show if entries have already closed. Once the eligibility time frame for that year has passed all participants return to the Open Class to complete for the following year. Puppy Extravaganza Saturday, September 4, 2021 Best Puppy in Show Competition. Ribbons, Rosettes and Prizes will be awarded. No additional entry required. Best of Breed Puppy will be selected by breed judge following each Best of Breed. Best Puppy in Group will be selected following group competition in the Puppy Group Ring. Best Puppy in Show will be selected prior to Best in Show judging. These AKC approved special events allow the puppy class winner in each breed to be judged immediately following Best of Breed to determine Best Puppy. If the puppy wins Best of Winners or Best of Breed it is automatically Best Puppy. The Best Puppy will then compete in their respective Puppy Groups for First through Fourth placements. If a puppy wins first place in the regular group prior to the Puppy Group being judged, the Puppy Group will be held to award 2nd, 3rd and 4th places. The seven winners of the Puppy Groups will then compete for Best Puppy in Show.

6 Best Owner-Handled in Show Competition - Saturday & Sunday September 4 and September 5, 2021 - National Owner-Handled Series (Remember to check the box near the bottom of the entry form) The AKC Owner/Handled Series is a non-titling competition for dogs that are exhibited by their owners who are not professional handlers. This series of special competitions will be offered at dog shows across the country. All dogs that are owner/handled and are not owned or exhibited by professional handlers' meet the requirements for this competition. Exhibitors must declare their dog is Owner/Handler eligible at the time of entry using the check box on the entry form. Eligible dogs will be identified by an asterisk in the steward's book and the catalog. Dogs must be handled throughout the competition by an eligible owner. Professional handlers may not exhibit the dog in this competition. The Owner Handled Best of Breed will be selected from the dogs that are eligible to compete in the Best of Breed competition including Winners Dog, Winners Bitch and winners of the non-regular classes. ! If the Best of Breed/Variety winner is Owner-Handled competition eligible, it will automatically be Owner Handled Best of Breed/Variety and be eligible to compete in both the regular as well as the Owner-Handled Group. ! Dog Eligible to Enter This event is open to all dogs four (4) months of age or older that are registered with the American Kennel Club or approved Foundation Stock Service (FSS) breeds and Miscellaneous Breeds are eligible to participate. No Champions of Record may compete in an Open Show. Professional handlers are not permitted to exhibit in Open Shows. Professional handlers are defined according to the Rules Applying to Dog Shows Chapter 3, Section 7. Dogs should be physically sound. No dog shall be judged if it is taped, bandaged, glues or stitches anywhere including ears or tail in any way or has anything attached to it for medical purposes. Refer to Chapter 2 of the Registration and Discipline Rules for the listing of registerable breeds that may participate. Puppies under four (4) months of age are strictly prohibited from the event grounds.

7 BEGINNER PUPPY SPECIAL ATTRACTION Saturday & Sunday, September 4 & 5, 2021 Bring your Beginner Puppies (4-6 months of age) to the Mid-Coast Kennel Club of Maine. Four to Six Month Special Attraction (AKC Sanctioned). One combined class will be offered for breeds and varieties of dogs that are four months and under six months and divided into Groups as described in Chapter 3, Section 1 of the Rules Applying to Dog Shows and the Miscellaneous Class breeds as listed in Chapter 3, Section 23. There will be a selection of Best of Breed Puppy in each Breed/Variety. All Best of Breed Puppy winners will then compete in their respective group for First through Fourth. The Miscellaneous class competition will be judged by breed followed by a group competition. Foundation Stock Service (FSS) breeds may compete and the winners of each FSS breed will compete in an "FSS Group". The Miscellaneous Group an FSS Group winners will be eligible to compete in Best 4-6 Month Puppy in Show. An AKC registration number or litter number is required for entries of an AKC recognized breed. FSS number or FSS registered litter number is required for Miscellaneous & FSS Breed entries. Dogs must be four months of age and under six months. Dogs are required to be vaccinated in accordance with their veterinarian's protocol in order to avoid inadvertent transmission of illness by/to puppies not yet fully immunized. AKC Rules in Dealing with Misconduct will be applicable to any person and dog entered at this competition. All applicable rules found in Rules Applying to Dog Shows will govern the conduct of this competition unless these regulations state otherwise. Exhibitors should plan on opening the mouth of their puppy for th judges. Breed standard disqualifications such as color, height, weight or dentition shall not be a point of consideration in the judging process for this 4-6 month Puppy Special Attraction event. 15 Ú NOTICE TO EXHIBITORS Ú - APPLIES TO ALL SHOWS An AKC RECORDING FEE of $.50 and an AKC Event Service Fee of $3.00 will be required for each dog entered at any Licensed or Member Club Show, Obedience Trial or Test. If a dog is entered in more than one class in one of these events, the AKC Recording Fee and Service Fee is to be collected on the first entry only. (AKC Rules Applying to Dog Shows, Chapter 11, Section 2). An AKC Recording Fee of $3.00 will be required for each entry in any Lincesed or Member Club Rally Trial. If a dog is entered in more than one class in a Rally event, the AKC Recording Fee is to be collected on each of the entries of that dog. (AKC Rally Regulations, Chapter 1, Section 3). All Recording Fees are paid to the American Kennel Club. The show-giving club and the superintendent have no obligation or responsibility for providing service through a public address system or stewards or runners for the purpose of calling or locating dogs that are not brought into the ring when required. ALL DOGS PRESENT must be held on leash or confined to their crates except when being judged or when in the exercising ring. CLASS CASH PRIZES will be paid in the ring to the person showing the dog. Claims for prize money must be made in the ring before the judging of that breed is over, and the Superintendent to be advised at once. The Superintendent and Show-giving Club may disclaim any liability for cash prizes after the judging of the breed is over.

In consideration of the acceptance of this entry and of the holding of this event and of the opportunity to have the dog judged and to win prizes, ribbons, or trophies, I (we) agree to hold the AKC, the event-giving club, their members, directors, governors, officers agents, superintendents or event secretary and the owner and/or lessor of the premises and any provider of services that are necessary to hold this event and any employees or volunteers of the aforementioned parties, and any AKC approved judge, judging at this event, harmless from any claim for loss or injury which may be alleged to have been caused directly or indirectly to any person or thing by the act of this dog while in or about the event premises or grounds or near any entrance thereto, and I( (we) personally assume all responsibility and liability for any such claim; and I (we) further agree to hold the aforementioned parties harmless from any claim for loss, injury or damage to this dog. The following categories of dogs may be entered and shown in Best of Breed Competition: Dogs that are Champions of Record and dogs which, according to their owner's records, have completed the requirements for a championship, but whose championships are unconfirmed. The showing of unconfirmed Champions in Best of Breed competition is Limited to a period of 90 days from the date of the show where the dog completed the requirements for a championship. 3. (Dog Show Class) Consult the classification in this premium list, if the dog show class in which you are entering your dog is divided, then, in addition to designating the class, specify the particular division of the class in which you are entering your dog, i.e., age division, color division, weight division. 4. A dog must be entered in the name of the person who actually owned it at the time entries for a show closed. If a registered dog has been acquired by a new owner it must be entered in the name of its new owner in any show for which entries closed after the date of acquirement, regardless of whether the new owner has received the registration certificate indicating that the dog is recorded in his name. State on the entry form whether transfer application has been mailed to A.K.C. (For complete rule refer to Chapter 14, Section 3.). 5. Mixed Breed dogs entering classes for Agility, Obedience and Rally trials should mark Breed as AKC Canine Partners Listed Dog "All-American Dog/Mixed Breed."
