Beginning Juggling
The primary focus of this unit will be juggling, balancing, and many hand-eye coordination activities. Juggling increases heart rate and respiration, develops good hand- eye coordination, develops quick reflexes and builds brain cells. Plus it is just plain fun to do.
The goal of this unit is for all students to have some degree of success in being able to juggle. For some that may mean getting the basics down in class and continuing to develop their abilities after the unit is over. Others will be able to learn to juggle very quickly. Those students will then be challenged by more and more advanced skills and tricks.
In addition to juggling and various other circus type skills, students in this unit will be introduced to activities like; double-dutch jump roping, speed cup stacking, and hula hoop tricks.
