In the evening, enjoy a lake trip, floating gardens and interesting Lake Trip, Floating Gardens and interesting Canals in a luxurious Shikara. Start trekking steep ascending up to Shokhdari approx.. Five hour walk to Nichnai . Camp near the river in Nichnai which is 3500 Mtrs. Altitude . Overnight in Tents. Day 03: Nichnai- Vishnasar o Leaving in the morning after breakfast start ascending to Vishnasar Pass (4,000 mtr) then descend towards Vishnasar 4/5 hours walking through the beautiful valley with many different wild flowers and crossing a stream at the end. Overnight in Tents. Day 04: Vishnasar- Gadsar o Full day trek 6/7 hours walk towards Gadsar known as Botanist paradise steep ascending up to Krishansar Lake which is 4080 Mtrs. Camp for Overnight in Gadsar. Day 05: Gadsar- Satsar o Leaving Gadsar and easy ascending up to Poshpatri (The valley of flowers) than a gradual walking upto Megandub. From here steep and difficult trek to Zagibal peak 4180 Mtrs. This is the highest and tiring pass on this trek where you can see beautiful view of the Gangabal lakes and Harmukh peak. Overnight in tents. Day 06: Satsar - Gangabal Lake o Day for leisure or Rainbow Trout Fishing at Gangabal lakes or full day visit to Lul Gul pass where from you can see beautiful view of K2 . Read Full License Page 1/14 Abstract This study is perhaps the rst attempt to use satellite data (1990–2018) to analyze spatiotemporal changes in glacial lakes over the Kashmir Himalayas supplemented by eld studies. Landsat images were used to delineate the spatial extent of glacial lakes at four time points, i.e., 1990, 2000, 2010 and 2018. The total count of lakes as well as their spatial extent showed a discernible increase. The number increased from 253 in 1990 to 322 in 2018, with a growth rate of 21.4%. The area has increased from 18.84 Km2 in 1990 to 22.11 Km2 in 2018 with a growth rate of 14.7 percent. The newly formed glacial lakes, including supra glacial lakes, were greater in number than the lakes that disappeared over the study period. All glacial lakes are situated at elevations of 2700 m asl and 4500 m asl.

As a young boy I got used to hear folk tales of Sone Kisli and other tales from Granny Zapar Ded, but what interested me was her narration of travelogue of Pandit Bhawani Kaul of 18th Century {Descendant of Pandit Narain Kaul; who wrote History of Kashmir during Akbar’s time}. His travels through dense forests in quest of spiritual and literary enlightenment kept me, an eight-year-old, gazing at her next lip movement, however, it was Bhawani Kaul’s challenging pilgrimage to Gangabal and Sharda Temple which impressed me most. At Matamal uncle would hold court at his Rehbab Sahib residence and amongst various discourses, Pandit Harjoo Fehrist’s {Mid 19th Century; social reformer and staunch Vedhist} visits to Sharda Temple, till he lost his life at the temple, held us spell bound. Those days Goddess Sharda meant a lot to me, in my quest to do well in studies.

Large resources are spent on the development of various urban settlements but the condition of these towns continues to deteriorate because of piecemeal nature of expenditure and lack of definitive development schemes. Adhoc efforts neither result in better environment nor strengthen the economic base. In view of this, Town Planning Organisation, Kashmir has undertaken the preparation of the Master Plans for various towns, which envisages all encompassing development of these towns. Master Plans are expected to give impetus to the development and economic potential of the towns. In the first phase, the Master Plans of district headquarters have been taken up which will be followed up by Master Plans of other small and medium towns. The Government has also decided to outsource few Master Plans; however, the Master Plan for Ganderbal, which is on the threshold of becoming Class I town, has been outsourced to M/S Feedback Infra Private Limited, Gurgaon. The Master Plan-Ganderbal (2012-32) is the first planning effort in Kashmir region that has been outsourced to any private consultant by Town Planning Organisation, Kashmir. The studies involved in the preparation of Master Plan for Ganderbal (2012-32) concerns with the areas crucial to planning and development of the region. It has been a great privilege for M/S Feedback Infra Private Limited, Gurgaon to undertake the assignment of formulating the Master Plan of Ganderbal (2012-32).
