HILLCREST’S FLOWER POTS These ladies potted a variety of flowers at Hillcrest recently. They bought the flow- ers at Running’s. They finally found a day without rain, and got these beauties planted. The planters look beautiful and they look forward to watching them grow over the summer months while sitting outside on the back patio. Great job ladies!! Congratulations Trent 2 Solid Rock Church in Fulda held a special evening event for the NDI group homes in Fulda, MN. The event was held on June 10th Mary where the church had games, activities and Rosi meal and drink. The glow-in-the-dark brace- lets were a hit with several individuals. Thanks to Solid Rock Church for putting this event on for our individuals—it was an enjoyable night. An intense game of Candy Land going on! HAPPY BIRTHDAY MATT Brandon & Eric checked out all the classic cars at the Spomer Motor Car Show over Memorial Day Weekend. This car show had old, new, classics and collector cars. They each had their favorite car (pictured above). After looking at the cars, they looked at all the lighted signs Marv Spo- mer has collected over the years. BURLINGTON HOUSE Matt, Eric & Jason Matt, Eric & Jason enjoyed an afternoon at Falls Park in Sioux Falls in June. The weather was nice, views spectacular around Falls Park with many photo op- portunities. They ate at IHop and said the food was amazing. After a little shopping around town, they headed back home. Overall, a good for all of them. NEW DAWN SUMMER PICNIC This year’s summer picnic was held on June 20th at Centennial Park in Worthington, MN with over 125 people attending. Some individuals participated in the fashion show after supper with yard games, such as rodeo golf, bean-bag-toss and a fabric ball available for everyone to enjoy. The weather started off windy and rainy, but the afternoon was beautiful. We thank each and everyone of you for taking the time to come. We truly enjoy the work we do, and are lucky to be able to work with your loved one. We hope you enjoy the night. These fashion minded individuals dressed in their favorite outfit and walked-the- walk at the NDI Fashion Show. This was part of the summer picnic NDI held in Worthington on June 20, 2019. Phil has worked for NDI for 6 years, and is look- ing forward to serving the com- munity as a real estate agent working for Johnson Realty here in Worthington. Good Luck Phil!! George caught two bullheads Sat. George was thrilled with reeling a “Big” one while Pat did the dirty work of baiting the line. Con- grats George. Jeremiah caught two fish while fishing on Cottonwood Lake and he received a new fishing pole as a prize. Steve had a hook-n-sinker time while jigging on the bottom of Cottonwood Lake. He did not catch a fish, but walked away with a brand new fishing pole. Check out the pic of him fishing over his shoulder? Michael enjoyed the morning being on the water although he did not catch the “Big” one. He enjoyed a delicious lunch with staff, Gail, after fishing. She shared her experience with staff, letting them take the bullhead off the line. FISHING HAS NO BOUNDARIES Event was held on June 22, 2019 at Cottonwood Lake in Cottonwood, MN. This was the 10th annual event for anglers with disability. This event was sponsored by The Cottonwood Area Sportsmen’s Club making it possible for our individuals to fish in pontoons, fishing boats, and from shore. They provided coffee, juice and rolls in the morning, with lunch served at noon. Gifts were handed out to by volunteers to some of the participants. It was an amazing event, which takes time to organize and work. They are in need of more volunteers and boats for future events.
