With an incredible nine titles between the 2017-18 seasons, Elina Svitolina is a force on the WTA Tour, and has cemented her place among the elite of women’s tennis by lifting the biggest title of her career in the form of the Billie Jean King trophy at the WTA Finals in 2018.

The Ukrainian lifted a tour-leading five WTA titles in 2017 and also that year became the first player in WTA history to win three Premier 5 titles in a single season, peaking at No.3 in the rankings. Her rise continued in 2018 with titles at Brisbane, Dubai and Rome, before her stunning undefeated run to WTA Finals crown during the final year of the season- ending event in Singapore.

Elina doesn’t believe in “intimidation.” When her older brother started playing tennis, Elina did not shy away, but became determined to become better than he was. The Ukrainian let that competitive nature fuel her early in her career - winning Junior Roland Garros at 15 years old, and her first WTA title at 18 years old.

The fire and passion she is known for has even caught the attention of one of her childhood idols - Serena Williams, who she defeated at the 2016 Rio Olympics. "She had this fire in her eyes and she had this desire," said 23-time Major Champion of Svitolina, who is sure to continue to fight to get to the top of the game.
