Digital Hymnal II Master Index 20100615 Full Page for PDF.Pub
Gulbransen DIGITAL HYMNAL DH-200 Master Index The Master Index allows easy access to all of the thousands of hymns pre-programmed into the GULBRANSEN DIGITAL HYMNAL. The Master Index contains the specific hymn title and the tune name arranged in alphabetical order together with the hymn master reference number. For example, to play the hymn “Word of God, Across the Ages”, select the Master Index code 9000, plus the master reference number (found in the Master Index) which is 492. Simply press k b b b plus ENTER and f k d plus ENTER then PLAY. Another convenient way to use the Hymnal is to refer to one of the many popular hymn books that have already been indexed internally by GULBRANSEN. You will then have words and music to use with the Hymnal performance. For example, to play hymns from The Baptist Hymnal, select code 9001 When selecting a hymn such as “Word of God, Across the Ages” (number 262 in The Baptist Hymnal), simply press k b b c plus ENTER and d h d plus ENTER then PLAY. The Hymnal always remembers the specific hymn book that you have selected until it is explicitly told to switch to a different one. It even remembers when it is turned off or the battery is removed. Due to copyright and publisher restrictions, some hymns found in your particular hymn book may not be available and therefore inaccessible on the Hymnal. However, the thousands of hymns listed in the Master Index are not restricted and can be played. Paschale Mysterium Gregorian Chant for Easter Ijl Vexilla regis (hymnus) Domine, exaudi (tractus) Crucem tuam (antiphona) Improperia I1 Oratio Jeremiae Exultet (praeconium paschale) Cantemus Domino (canticum) [81 Surrexit Dominus vere (antiphona cum psalmo invitatorio 94) Alleluia. Haec dies (antiphonae) Haec dies. Confitemini (responsorium - graduale) Alleluia. Pascha nostrum Victimae paschali laudes (sequentia) Exsultemus et laetemur (cantus responsorialis) Aurora lucis (hymnus) Benedicamus Domino, alleluia (ad dimittendum populum) The liturgical celebration of the mystery of Easter, the Paschale Mysterium, comes at the height of the Christian year, marking the task of human redemption and the glorification of God. It is both a record and a redemptive representation of the passion and death of Christ, on Good Friday, and of his resurrection, on Easter Eve and Easter Day. These two celebrations, which have formed the core of the Easter liturgy since the apostolic age, centre on the Cross, the "King's emblem, glowing with mystery . the wonderful, shining tree, adorned with royal purple", in the words of the hymn Vexilln regis, written by Venantius Fortunatus, seventh century bishop of Poitiers, the opening of the present release. In tl~emodern liturgy the VexiIla regis is sung at Vespers in Holy Week. Its composition presents highly lyrical melodic motifs and is constructed on an authentic protzrs mode which has a range of a modal fifth (D to A) wit11 the ornamentation of B flat. T11e liturgy of Good Friday juxtaposes the celebration of two ritual elements, the readings from the Bible followed by the universal prayer (orntio fidelitan) and the Veneration of the Cross. The first has its origin in the papal liturgy, celebrated in the Roman Basilica of the Holy Cross of Jerusalem, the second, more popular in character, is derived from the presbyterial liturgy. -

Master Song List
Master Index . First Lines are listed in upper and lower case letters. TUNE NAMES and SONG TITLES are listed in all UPPER CASE (CAPITAL) letters. Some entries may be repeated with different reference numbers. This usually indicates that either the musical arrangements of these tunes were sufficiently different to justify separate recordings, or they are distinctly different tunes. Naming discrepancies between hymn books can result in a tune being listed more than once (with different reference numbers) even though each number produces the same musical result.
