  • Winter School Closures and Delays District Website
Prosser School District 2016/2017 Winter School Closures and Delays District Website: www.prosserschools.org Dear Parents: With beautiful fall colors all around us I know it is hard to believe that winter is just around the corner, bringing with it the cold weather. The following information will be helpful for everyone as we address the reality of icy and snowy road conditions: Road Conditions When roads turn icy and slick, Bill Petersen, our Transportation Director, and I will be on the road each morning to check conditions. We begin checking the areas in town, on the Horse Heaven Hills and in the Roza Area by 4:10 a.m. Understanding that each area can have different road conditions, Bill and I meet back at the District Office at about 5:15 a.m. to assess the overall conditions. After checking with local police, the City of Prosser, State Patrol and the County Roads Department, we make the first call to delay or cancel school between 5:30 and 5:45 a.m. In most cases we will delay the beginning of school for two hours. This allows us a chance to see how road conditions improve after the sand trucks have completed their jobs. Once the decision to delay or cancel school has been made, the following radio stations will be contacted with our first decision by approximately 5:45 a.m.: Radio Stations Television Stations KFAE 89.1 FM HOTT 99.7 FM KVEW KONA 105.3 FM KXDD 104.1 FM KAPP 610 AM KARY 100.9 FM KEPR KORD 102.7 FM KRSE 105.7 FM KNDU KEYW 98.3 FM KBBO 980 AM KXRX 97.1 FM KJOX 1390 AM KOLW 97.5 FM KLOK 94.9 FM KFLD 870 AM Delay and cancellation information will also be posted immediately to the District website as well as sent electronically through Flash Alert, which can alert you of delays and closures immediately through text message or email alert as well as posting the alerts through our District Facebook page.

(Docket No. MB 02-235, FCC File Nos. BTC-20020723ABL, et al.) Dear Ms. Dortch: Spanish Broadcasting System, Inc. (“SBS”) has demonstrated that the proposed merger will dramatically harm both competition and diversity in the Spanish-language broadcasting market. Even if the FCC were to conclude that there is not a distinct relevant market for Spanish-language broadcasting (although there is overwhelming, indeed, practically uncontradicted evidence that there is one) it is imperative that the Commission recognize the unique loss of diversity threatened by the proposed merger for Spanish-speaking Americans. Such action is compelled by the Commission’s recent affirmation of the importance of broadcast diversity to the social and political fabric of our nation.1 The Commission has determined 1 2002 Biennial Regulatory Review - Review of the Commission's Broadcast Ownership Rules and Other Rules adopted Pursuant to Section 202 of the Telecommunications Act of 1996, Cross-Ownership of Broadcast Stations and Newspapers, Rules and Policies Concerning Multiple Ownership of Radio Broadcast Stations in Local Markets, Definition of Radio Markets, Definition of Radio Markets for Areas Not Located in an Arbitron Survey Area, MB Dkt. • STUDIES RELATED to the SYNTHESIS of a Thesis Presented
STUDIES RELATED TO THE SYNTHESIS OF TETRACYCLINE a thesis presented by NORMAN JAMES ALBERT GUTTERIDGE in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY Chemistry Department, Imperial College, LONDON June, 1966. To Jo ABSTRACT A review of some important reactions of tetracycline are presented. An account of the attempts to synthesise tetracycline follows with a summary of the progress contributed by workers in these laboratories. The new contribution to this work commences with a study of the reduction of the 9-oxo function in 2-phenyl- 3-cyano-3-tetrahydropyranyloxy-9-oxo-2a18,8a-trihydro- naphthacene[4,4a$5,bc]furan (A). 0 (A) An attempted conversion of 2-phenyl-3,8a-(N-phenyl- isoxazolidine)-9-oxo-2a1 3,8,8a-tetrahydronaphthaceno[4,4a,- 5,b0]-furan (B) into 2-phenyl-3/9-dioxo-2a0,8a-trihydro- naphthaceno[4,4a,5,bc]furan (C) is then described together with a re-examination of previous work on these derivatives. (B) (C) To assist studies in this series of compounds, 1-N- phenylamino-1,2,3,4-tetrahydronaphthalene was synthesised. A preparation of 2-phenyl-4-(31 15'-diacetoxy-21- ethylene-acetal-4'-carbomethoxybenzy1)-5-oxo-naphtho- [4,10,5,bc]furan (D), a suitable precursor for the recently described photocyclisation process, is described in detail. (D) 0 — C Ph Finally, studies in the 2 -phenyl -4,6 -dihydroxy-5 -carbo - methoxy -3,8a -(N -phanylisoxazolidine)-9 -oxo -2a,3,8,8a - tetrahydronaphthaceno[4,4a,5,bc]furan series (E) were commenced.
