Ridley This book is a biography of local racer Bill Waddill and a history of the Genesee Gear Grinders, an early hot rod club in Flint. The paperback book has 250 pages and over 550 photographs of early hot rods in a 8.5” x 10” format. Special price at book signing: $25.00 Marse Robert, Temptations/Redemptions of Robert E. Lee by Douglas L. Stephens This paperback book is a fictional story woven around several historical events surrounding the Civil War and Robert E. Lee. This book contains 169 pages in a 5.25” x 8” format. Special price at book signing: $14.00 Two books from the Postcard History Series Flint 1890-1960 and Genesee County 1900-1960 by the Genesee County Historical Society researched and written by Robert Florine (co-author will be present), past president of the historical society; Dale Ladd (co-author will be present), past president of the Flint Genealogical Society; James Miller, retired Flint Journal reporter and David White, past president of the historical society. These books contain 128 pages each with numerous black and white photographs in a 6.5” x 9.25” format. Price at book signing: $20.00 each Going Up the Swartz by Yutha Hayes This hardcover book is a history of the Swartz Creek area 1836-1976 and its purpose is to recall the history of this area by facts, stories and photographs for the residents who grew up here, for the appre- ciation of the newcomers and for the youth of tomorrow. It has 234 pages in an 8.25” x 11” format. Price at book signing: $20.00 Bargain books will also be available-two for $10.00, three for $12.00 and five for $15.00 with all of the proceeds going to the Friends of the Perkins Library. Books authored by Stan Perkins are: “Lore of Wolver- ine Country, “Barn Bees and Others-How Collective Endeavor Built a Nation,” “Agri-Quest-The Evolution of Food Production, ” “Fowl Tales,” and “Spooky Barns.” “The Axe Thrower of the Tittabawassee” by George Skinner and “The Blue-Eyed Chippewa” by Wilma Weather- wax will also be available at these prices. The reprinted “Crapo Farm” authored by Catherine Crapo Bullard will also be available for $6.00. .
