Of the 120 players who played in the inaugural Hero Hockey India League in 2013, 60 were Olympians. The list includes winners of the prestigious FIH Player of the Year Award including Jamie Dwyer (2004, 2009, 2010, 2011), Teun de Nooijer (2003, 2005, 2006) and Moritz Fuerste (2012). Seven of the top 10 FIH rated players played in the Hero HIL 2013. More than 69 million fans across the world watched the inaugural tournament won by the Ranchi Rhinos telecast in 146 countries. HIL used innovative marketing mediums and currently has 5.59 lac fans on Facebook, making it the largest hockey facebook page in the world and is one of the most engaging sports leagues on the social media platform. Six franchise teams will feature in the second season of the Hero Hockey India League to be held from 25 January to 23 February 2014.     NR 1 26 AUGUSTUS 2021 ‘Van de velden’ VALKENTOERNOOI 2021 Alsof Corona niet bestaat. Het 11e Valkentoernooi pakte afgelopen zaterdag de draad weer op en dus begonnen 16 meisjes- en jongens A1-teams aan een hockeyevenement dat ook nu weer zeer professioneel in elkaar stak. De ‘Gouwe Ouwe’ elementen waren gebleven zoals de warme ontvangst en de dito catering de hele dag, de toparbitrage en de leuke prijzen. Nieuw was de zeer praktische Tournify-app waarop iedereen de hele zaterdag alle informatie kon bekijken. De prijzen die bij eerdere edities met shootouts konden worden behaald, konden nu worden gewonnen in een wedstrijd met de snelheidsmeter waarbij werd vastgesteld hoe hard iemand kon slaan. Bij de meisjes won Sophie Tatahaturema van Victoria MA1. Zij sloeg de bal met een snelheid van 111 km/uur. Jaap Solleveld van Schaerweijde JA1 sloeg hier toe met maar liefst 123 km per uur. En tenslotte kon ieder team een professionele foto van de groep laten maken. Chantal, Dorine, Marc, Marieke, Idoena, Carolyn, Karlijn en Remy organiseerden op ontspannen wijze deze geweldige seizoenstart en stonden borg voor een Corona-proof toernooi. Het hoge kwaliteitsniveau werd mede mogelijk gemaakt door maar liefst acht enthousiaste sponsors: Gazelle, Jumbo, Lease a Bike, SunnyCamp, Salentein, de Gemeente Zeist, Broekhuis en Sligro. Rond half zes vond de prijsuitreiking plaats: Schaerweijde MA1 en Cartouche JA1 bleken uiteindelijk de winnaars. Iedereen die dat wilde kon blijven eten met sfeervolle muziek op de achtergrond.     National: Justice D K Jain to be new Law Commission chief Justice D K Jain, a Supreme Court judge who is due to retire on January 24, is likely to become the next chairman of the Law Commission. The 20th Law Commission was constituted by the Union Cabinet for a three-year term in October, and will have four full-time members, besides the chairman. The law secretary and the legislative department secretary are the Commission's ex-officio members. Justice Jain, before being appointed to the apex court, was the chief justice of the Punjab & Haryana High Court. Intelligence Bureau, RAW get new chiefs India's two elite intelligence agencies - Intelligence Bureau (IB) and Research & Analysis Wing (RAW) - had their new chiefs with Syed Asif Ibrahim and Alok Joshi, respectively, taking over the mantle for a fixed tenure of two years. Ibrahim (59) is the first Muslim to lead the IB, the internal intelligence agency of the country. He took over from Nehchal Sandhu. Joshi, who took over as RAW (country's external intelligence agency) chief. He had served as special secretary in the agency. Gutka ban comes into force in Uttarakhand The ban on sale of gutka and tobacco-based pan masala came into effect in Uttarakhand. The decision to ban sale, purchase and storage of these products from January 1 was taken by the Cabinet. Time was given to traders dealing in such products to exhaust the stock by December 31,2012. A circular had been sent to all departments concerned to strictly enforce the ban. In this Tournament 6 teams played 34 matches in different Venue. Teams Details: 1. Delhi Waveriders 2. Kalinga Lancers 3. Mumbai Magicians 4. Punjab Warriors 5. Uttar Pradesh Wizard The 1st semi-final match played between Delhi waveriders and Uttar Pradesh Wizards at Hockey stadium, Ranchi and the 2nd Semi Final match played between Punjab Warriors vs Ranchi Rhinos at Hockey stadium, Ranchi. After playing two semi final game the final two team was Punjab warriors and Delhi waveriders who played final game of the Hockey India League 2014.
