Over 800 race entries are expected for this event. The weekend will be full of international motocross legends, including several inductees to the Motorcycle Hall of Fame. Racers are coming from all over the world, including Europe and Australia. Here is your chance to visit with and race against some of your idols: Barry Higgins, Steve Wise, Brad Lackey, Trampas Parker, Trey Jorski and Guy Cooper. Bench race with Diamond Don’s weekend legend, Gary Chaplin – 1972 500cc InterAm Series Champion and 1973 Unadilla InterAm Top American. Diamond Don Rainey, event promoter, started racing in 1968. By 1973, Rainey was competing in AMA national events and raced in the first night race at the Houston Astrodome. He retired in his 30’s, but re-started the second round of his racing career in 1996. He pulled his old motorcycles out of the garage and restored them. He races his motorcycles at vintage events around the country. Today, he still builds his own bikes and races in the AHRMA 70+ class on his 1974 Honda Elsinore or a Brad Lackey look-alike 400cc CZ. Come early for a new event on Thursday afternoon: Pit Bike Flat Track Challenge. -

FHWA-HRT-18-039 FEBRUARY 2019 Research, Development, and Technology Turner-Fairbank Highway Research Center 6300 Georgetown Pike McLean, VA 22101-2296 FOREWORD The Motorcycle Crash Causation Study, conducted through the Federal Highway Administration Office of Safety Research and Development, produced a wealth of information on the causal factors for motorcycle crashes, and its corresponding Volumes provide perspectives on what crash-countermeasure opportunities can be developed. This study used a crash- and control-case approach developed from the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development protocols, which as discussed in this report, has provided insights into more than 1,900 data elements that may be associated with motorcycle-crash causation. The research team produced a final report along with a 14-volume series of supplemental reports that provide an overview of the study and a summary of its observations, the data-collection forms and coding definitions, a tabulation of each data element collected from each form, and selected comparisons with previous studies. It is anticipated that readers will select those Volumes and data elements that provide information of specific interest. This document, Volume 2—Coding Manual, provides the coding conventions used in this study. It provides data that enable the proper interpretation and understanding of the codes assigned to variables of interest during the study. This report will be of interest to individuals involved in traffic safety, safety training, crash and injury reduction, and roadway design and policy making, as well as to motorcycle- and safety-equipment designers, crash investigators and researchers, motorcycle and automotive manufacturers and consumers, roadway users, and human-factors specialists. -

MV AGUSTA 1977 750S AMERICA 790 CC 4 CYL OHC SOLD MV Agusta 750S America Frame # 22110473 DGM-OM Engine # 221-0236 The 750S America model was introduced in 1975. It featured blockier styling and a larger engine than previous MV 750s. MV Agusta’s glorious racing background gave rise to numerous street bikes over the years, such as the 1977 MV Agusta 750S America motorcycle. The 790-cc double-overhead-cam four-cylinder engine in the 1977 MV Agusta 750S America motorcycle V.O.F. When shipped from the factory, the stock exhaust system was an odd combination of chrome downtubes with megaphones finished in black crinkle paint which are now separately supplied with the machine. The exhaust system on this 1977 MV Agusta 750S America motorcycle is borrowed from a 1976 model and more stylish than the crinkle black 1977design. A sleek fairing for this 1977 MV Agusta 750S America motorcycle will also be supplied with the machine. Weighing 507 pounds without fluids, the 750S is no lightweight, but its handling at speed belies the mass. The suede-covered racing saddle keeps the pilot in place during the kind of spirited cornering maneuvers the 750S is so well known for. Like previous MVs, the 750S America was expensive and exclusive and everyone knows Italian style and performance have never been cheap. And that goes double for motorcycles built by that most exclusive of Italy’s bike-makers, MV Agusta. -
