Fiviqb Album Report Ç 1 ie KAL RUDMAN .44 PUBLISHER THE FRIDAY MORNING OlUARTERBACW A PROGRAMMING GUIDE EXECUTIVE MEWS • 1930 EAST MARLTON PIKE, F36 • CHERRY HILL, NEW JERSEY 08003 • (609) 424-9114 FIVIQB ALBUM REPORT November 19. 1982 BILL HARD, Editor Easy Choice OZZY OSBOURNE, "PEAK OF THE DEVIL", JET/EPIC Always glad to Just off the old Ozzvious Choice especially considering the tasteful one's recent Lp sales totals. 4e were initially surprised nct to hear "Flying High" and "Crazy Train", but he's one of the few artists where image is at least as important as songs. He could be whizzing in a bucket over his should2r and the kids would love it. As noted in several comments this week, those Sabbath classics are new songs to many of today's tecns and are bourd to stimulate whatever brain-cells remain in 25+ fans. L)ve the do. Chain Reaction J. GEILS BAND, "SHOwTImE"._ EM! It's a bit early to put the new Lp in a leagu2 with "Full House", but 114 adds and tons of accolades tell us programmers will go to the wall to ma<e this party special a classic...Les Cook, WILS-FM, "Rousing renditions of Geils classics that sh)uld bring fans flocking into the stores. We can program anything on the record. Our listeners want it bad"...Jack Daniels, WROQ, "One of the best produced live albums I've heard this year. They have such a party image, they can get away with about anything"... Paul Lemieux, WCOZ, "The J. Geils Band 'Showtime' exudes their live raw power from its first groove to its last. Should be a Christmas mo-fo saleswise and get massive airplay well into '83"...Bob Bittens, WHCN, "Few performers put out more energy and rarely does a live album come as close to putting that energy on vinyl as does 'Showtime"...Mark Miller, W4CK, "The band got more sound quality on that outdoor stage than most bands can get in the studio. 'Showtime' is the state of the art"...Ilyse Gottlieb, WRXL, "Isn't it rewarding to see the success of such hard working perfectionists. I'm thrilled with the album"... Jack Silver, KSFE, "Growing up on the north side of Chicago, the biggest party album in the neighborhood was Full House'. Now, two live Lps later, 'Showtime' ought to do the same for today's party crowd"... Trax: "I Do", 'Just Can't Wait", "Love Stinks" and "Land Of 1,000 Dances". NIGHT RANGER, BOARDWALK With all the trendrock hitting the airwaves, radio is thrilled to get behind this straight forward, hard chargingformula blockbuster. 44 stations jump in with both feet for #2 Most Added...Radio: Ron mtnnl, WOVE, "The record of the week is Night Ranger. It's not just a fly-by-night one cut band. This album has depth'...Dave Krusenklaus, WKQQ, "Wm are these guys? Where in the hell have they been? Obviously they have been studying formula rock techniqu2. I'm happy to say that we'll join the midwestern avalanche and flow with this record out-of-the-box"...Mike Lyons, WDIZ, "Night Ranger sounds like a combination of Deep Purple and Loverboy and helps fill a hard rock void"...Gloria Johnson, KGON, "Night Ranger's got the goods. Brad Gillis' guitar almost growls and 'Don't Tell Me You Love Me' has a clean exciting sound that jumps out"...Rob Roman, KLAQ, "A real nice clean sound. It fills the need for every rock and roller's diet. Well-produced and sounds great on the radio"...Ted Burton Jacobsen, KKRQ, "The Night Ranger record can't be denied. Simply put, a musically sound rock and roll effort. A joy to the ear" .....Don't Tell Me You Love Me" is out front with "Sing Me Away" right behind. ADAM ANT, EPIC The 43-29 Index move is second only to Golden Earring in the points gained department. Up a corresponding 46-33 Metro...#3 Most Added with 20 including: WCOZ, KOME, WMET, KLOS, WGRQ, KYYS...Comments: Bruce Goldsen, WRKI, "Based on the strength of MTV play and requests Adam Ant moves to heavy this week"... Bill Weston, WGRQ, "It's the Ant invasion in 3uffalo. Adam Ant right now is as big as those hugh 6-legged mutants in the old sci-fi flicks. MTV can be credited for starting this runaway snowball. Nearly top 10 sales with nrnimal airplay. 'Goody Two Shoes' goes right into heavy at 97ROCK"...Dick Bascom, WQXM, "Adam Ant continues the incredible sales move. Maintaining top 10 status and pulling top 10 phones. It's gonna be a big record, don't miss it"...Ron Nenni, WOVE, "Adam retail is up 17-12. Also moved up in rotation this week"...Greq Gillespie, KEZO, "Adam Ant is still holding up as a hot phone item for the women"... If you're still not convinced, the Checklist sill close you--none dropping, 11 maintaining, and 52 building including WIYY, WGRQ, KLOL, KQAK, WYSP, WMMS, WHCN, WIOT, KBPI, WSHE, KYYS, WQXM, KGB-FM, WLPX, and WFYV. "Goody Two Shoes" gains 59-33-16 in the past three weeks. TIPS: SAMMY HAGAR, "YOU LOVE IS DRIVING ME CRAZY", GEFFEN In spite of Sammy's total album acceptance, Fe's not yet had that crunch-o single he needs to put his career in high gear. "Crazy" is that kind of song; it moves, it's nice and utempo, and rocks without that rough edge that so many adult hungry album stations avoid. Should be an automatic. DURAN DURAN, "HUNGRY LIKE THE WOLF", CAPITOL Video? MTV? European sales? Sure...but even without all that, this song has the goods. Hooks galore, sexy lyrics, killer chrous, and that increas'ongly important modern rock twist. The remix sounds great, and we applaud Capitol for their timing in gcing after this potential giant. ATTENTION: The Thanksgiving week deadline for Radio Action and reports will be 8 PM, Tuesday, November 23rd and 3 PM, Wednesday, November 24th, E.S.T. • Jovanotti È Un Personaggio Colorato, Vitale, Prezioso Di Spunti E Sollecitazioni Anche Per Chi Non Dovesse Immedesimarsi Del Tutto Nel Suo Linguaggio

Abstract When Netflix launched in April 1998, Internet video was in its infancy. Eighteen years later, Netflix has developed into the first truly global Internet TV network. Many books have been written about the five broadcast networks – NBC, CBS, ABC, Fox, and the CW – and many about the major cable networks – HBO, CNN, MTV, Nickelodeon, just to name a few – and this is the fitting time to undertake a detailed analysis of how Netflix, as the preeminent Internet TV networks, has come to be. This book, then, combines historical, industrial, and textual analysis to investigate, contextualize, and historicize Netflix's development as an Internet TV network. The book is split into four chapters. The first explores the ways in which Netflix's development during its early years a DVD-by-mail company – 1998-2007, a period I am calling "Netflix as Rental Company" – lay the foundations for the company's future iterations and successes. During this period, Netflix adapted DVD distribution to the Internet, revolutionizing the way viewers receive, watch, and choose content, and built a brand reputation on consumer-centric innovation.

Jose Dailos Cabrera Laasanen Is Rock Music in Decline? A Business Perspective Helsinki Metropolia University of Applied Sciences Bachelor of Business Administration International Business and Logistics 1405484 22nd March 2018 Abstract Author(s) Jose Dailos Cabrera Laasanen Title Is Rock Music in Decline? A Business Perspective Number of Pages 45 Date 22.03.2018 Degree Bachelor of Business Administration Degree Programme International Business and Logistics Instructor(s) Michael Keaney, Senior Lecturer Rock music has great importance in the recent history of human kind, and it is interesting to understand the reasons of its de- cline, if it actually exists. Its legacy will never disappear, and it will always be a great influence for new artists but is important to find out the reasons why it has become what it is in now, and what is the expected future for the genre. This project is going to be focused on the analysis of some im- portant business aspects related with rock music and its de- cline, if exists. The collapse of Gibson guitars will be analyzed, because if rock music is in decline, then the collapse of Gibson is a good evidence of this. Also, the performance of independ- ent and major record labels through history will be analyzed to understand better the health state of the genre. The same with music festivals that today seem to be increasing their popularity at the expense of smaller types of live-music events. Geoffrey Brown 3 This thesis is dedicated to Agnès Calatayud, an inspirational teacher, who reconnected me to French cinema after a long carence, and who, crucially, first introduced me to the films of Claire Denis. 4 Abstract This thesis argues that the interest which the films of Claire Denis display in the ever-shifting modes of relations between people is illustrated through analysis of how music is used throughout her corpus of feature films. Denis draws on an extremely eclectic palette of musical styles, and the thesis proposes that these varying musical modalities are central to her treatment of relational issues, as are the ways in which she deploys her chosen musical selections.
