A signature program of the Ford Volunteer Corps is Global Caring Month – a concentrated 30-day focus on community service each September. In addition to employee volunteers planning and participating in the projects, nonprofits will be nominated to buy tools and supplies needed to complete many of the activities. This year we are excited to offer two programs to recognize the important work of our community partners and employees that continue to support those impacted by COVID-19. Applications will require estimated project budget. Grants must be used to support an in-person volunteer project at an organization that has been affected by COVID-19. Employees participating must adhere to the COVID-19 safety guidelines set by the company and in compliance with the local market regulations. Volunteer Project Grants will be available to existing partner organizations that the Ford Fund has provided grants to in the past. The priority for Global Caring Month is to keep employees safe and be as flexible as possible, given the everchanging circumstances of the pandemic. In order to participate in in-person volunteer projects, employees must comply with local market regulations and safety protocols, and must check with their local HR representative to ensure the volunteer project is compliant with local company guidelines. Safety Protocols include: Ford volunteers must perform self-certify survey that is required before coming to the workplace, before participating in the volunteer activity; Ford volunteers must wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including face masks; Ford volunteers must maintain social distancing and practice frequent handwashing; Ford volunteers must use non-contact greetings; avoid handshakes or other personal contact. page 7 HOW TO APPLY Applications for Gratitude Grants and Volunteer Project Grants will be accessible on FordFund.org as of April 19th and will close May 31st page 8 FORD FUND GRANT POLICIES Ford Motor Company Fund recognizes there are many organizations worthy of support.
