After winning the first six games, the Eagles (6-2/2-2) have lost their last two to Akron (30-7) and Murray State (45-11). "Injuries have certainly been a factor the last two weeks," MSU head coach Bill Baldridge said. "We need to get our players healthy and have our second-teamers ready to play too." Meanwhile, the Blue Raiders have bounced back from a 1-3 start to win their last three games for a 4-4 overall mark. MSU and MTSU are currently tied in the OVC with 2-2 marks. "Earlie r in the year they (MTSU) had some injuries to their quarterback (Ma r v in Collier) and tailback (Gerald Anderson) which slowed them down offensively," Baldridge continue d. "Now we are going through what they went through. We have had our three All-America candidates (OG-Billy Poe, LB-Randy Frazier, PS-Kelvin Bell amy) banged up, plus Adrian (Breen) has not been one-hundred percent . You can t ell the e ffect it has had." -more- The Blue Raiders feature quarterback Marvin Collier and running backs Dwight Stone and Gerald Anderson. Collier has run for 270 yards on 75 attempts for five touchdowns, plus he's connected on 52 of 92 pass attempts with one interception for 7 0 6 yards and five touchdowns..
