[generalNote]: Hanes gweinyddol / Braslun bywgraffyddol | Administrative history | Biographical sketch Nodyn | Note John Williams (c. 1692-1755) of Bachellyn and Hendrewen, Caernarfonshire, married Mary Trygarn, and had two sons. The younger son, Rowland Jones (1722-1774), a London attorney, married Elizabeth Brown of London, and acquired through this marriage some properties in St. James Westminster and St. Martin in the Fields, Middlesex. He had two daughters and a son, who all died unmarried. Broom Hall (formerly Werglodd Fawr) was built during the minority of the son, Rowland Jones (c. 1772-1856). He purchased amongst other premises, the Elernion estate in Llanaelhaearn, Caernarfonshire, in 1785, part of the Plas Hen estate from the Mostyn family in 1845, and seems to have aquired the Ystumllyn estate nearby. Following his death in 1856 the estate passed to William Jones of Chwilog and Hendrewen, his uncle's grandson who died the following year. The estate then passed to William's eldest son, John Lloyd Jones. He died without issue and the estate was inherited by his sister Margaret (c. 1819-1880), wife of Owen Evans (1816-1901), second son of John Evans (c. 1768-1835) of Tyn-y- Llyfrgell Genedlaethol Cymru = The National Library of Wales Tudalen | Page 3 GB 0210 BROOMHALL Broom Hall Estate Records, coed in the parish of Aber-erch, Caernarfonshire. They had four children, Rowland Owen Lloyd Evans (b. 1886), Margaret Lydia (b. 1887), John Meredith Jones Evans (b. 1894) and Wiliam Prys Owen Evans (b. 1905).
