Social Lab on Responsible Research and Innovation, November 2018, Prague • Team will work on elaboration of six core themes of RRI + GI and will participate in their introduction in research practice in the future.

Social Lab on Responsible Research and Innovation, November 2018, Prague Basic goals of RRI:  To involve public sector as much as possible in research and innovation - to make these activities meet the needs of the society;  To serve as a basis for establishing a link between scientific research community and society through: public engagement of researchers, open access to research results, gender equality, development of education for science, ethical norms and new forms of managing.  To become common denominator of all H2020 initiatives within the EU research and innovation programs, and it is almost certain that the same situation will be within the FP9 programs.

• struggling with “brain drain“ • increased number of young people leaving the country after high school graduation • lack of internationalism of younger generations • lack of resolution to face with challenges and to confront them in a productive way • reduced number of newborn kids

Social Lab on Responsible Research and Innovation, November 2018, Prague What should we do? • Introduce science in high school and university education. • Introduce innovative formal and informal science education teaching and learning to raise awareness of the different aspects encompassing science and technology in today's society. • We should modify, change and adapt our current approach to teaching. Young people are not satisfied with role of a silent spectator in the theatre. They are looking for more discussions, more engagement, they do not recognize teachers authority "per definition". • Increase internationalization. • Make ground base for European universities - joint curricula and student books.

Social Lab on Responsible Research and Innovation, November 2018, Prague • Certain gender gaps are present (dean/vice-dean positions, managment of domestic projects) - not the consequence of no opportunity given for women. • Problem women experience - balance the demands of their career and personal/family (credit to women - feel more confident for positions that include more working hours, provide prolonged daily child-care facilities). • Many feel nervious about the impact starting a family might have on their career - reduced number of newborn kids. • No gender gaps in salary amount (incomes on maternity leave – basic salary 100%, no incomes from research activities – projects – should be changed). • Retirement - 62 years age limit for women, 65 years age limit for men – will be 65 years for both in 2032. • Generally, men earn higher incomes.

Social Lab on Responsible Research and Innovation, November 2018, Prague OPEN ACCESS (Dejan Beuković) • The Faculty of Agriculture (FA), as part of the University of Novi Sad, Subject to the all acts of University of Novi Sad, as well as Declaration on Open Access.

• PhD students of FA provide copy of PhD thesis to University repository of defended doctorate – OA implemented

• Scientific journals on FA are: – Contemporary Agriculture (Eng.) and – Annals of Agronomy (Srb.). • Contemporary Agriculture is the Official Journal of the FA publishes scientific papers from all the fields of agriculture, in OA. – OA implemented

• Annals of Agronomy publish articles in Serbian language, free available, but without apropriate metadata platform, just on web site – OA implemented

• On FA there is no platform or institutional policy that regulates and publishes author’s versions of scientific papers or other manuscripts, – reports, – projects results – etc. • It should be relevance to OA, as well as to be available for the public audience.

• Regulation of work the library of FA, is not in spirit of new e-era – Implementation articles about OA – Implementation articles about E-repository • Mandatory education and training of library staff in this field of work!

• Determine regulations related to publishing in OA at FA • Redefine “Act on the activities of libraries of FA” – some part of it are colossal with OA – it does not provide a library inherence in this field • Creating a project „Repository of the Faculty of Agriculture” - RAF – Inclusion of a Library of Faculty of Agriculture like corn of this project – Using experience of other UNS units during establishing system and process, (installation platform for example DSpace software) – Digitalization of monographs, PhD and MSc Thesis, author agreement license regulation and OA publishing – Getting institutional DOI numbers for monographs copy righted by FA (funding of this “tool” is possible by reducing the royalties for authors).
