The auction was full of impressive consignments and we saw record demand and strong results in nearly every category. It’s only because of your interest and support that we are able to bring you auctions of this caliber, and we sincerely thank you. The “Celebration of Burgundy” has become a highly-anticipated tradition for HDH. It can be a real challenge to assemble an entire auction devoted exclusively to Burgundy; the volume of production for the region’s top domaines is tiny, and many collectors are—understandably—hesitant to part with their beloved treasures. Fortunately, a robust market for these spectacular wines has encouraged some of our most meticulous and celebrated collectors to offer consignments in this year’s sale. Perusing this catalog, you will note an incredible cache of wines spanning a library of great Paul Hart domaines and vintages dating as far back as 1949. The sale boasts an encyclopedic array of wines CEO from Domaine de la Romanée-Conti along with page after page of offerings from Coche-Dury, Hart Davis Hart Wine Co. Dujac, Fourrier, Lefl aive, Leroy, Rousseau, Roumier, Vogüé and their peers. Whether you are a seasoned Burgundy collector or are just getting to know the region for the fi rst time, this sale is well worth your attention. In particular, I would like to direct interested bidders to An Outstanding Selection of Rarest Burgundy Spanning Four Decades (lots 172-212), which includes an extensive selection of wines from Henri Jayer purchased upon release by the current owner. This collector is a highly respected and scrupulous connoisseur (as well as a dear friend of HDH), and he has provided us with receipts for virtually all Jayer in the consignment. For those in search of Jayer, this collection presents a unique opportunity to acquire these rarities with remarkable provenance. Collectors seeking Chardonnay need look no further than An Impressive Selection of Magnifi cent Burgundy (lots 436-539). This is a particularly impressive offering of fi nest white Burgundy, assembled by one of the world’s most esteemed collectors, who is also a cherished friend. Coche- Dury, DRC, Lefl aive, Leroy, and Raveneau are just some of the revered producers available in this consignment, which was acquired entirely upon initial release and removed from a highly customized home cellar with ideal temperature and humidity conditions. I would be doing a disservice if I did not also mention the Magnifi cent Selections Directly from the Cellars of Fourrier and Hudelot-Noëllat (lots 372-435). This outstanding collection comes direct from the estates in the Côte-d’Or and includes highly-anticipated wines from Jean-Marie Fourrier’s new négociant business—Grand Cru Fourrier! This provenance is utterly unbeatable, and we are exhilarated to have the opportunity to offer it to you. Much has changed for HDH and for the market as a whole since our inaugural all-Burgundy sale in 2012. In 2012, Burgundy accounted for $11.6M of our auction sales; in 2014, it accounted for $19.4M. This staggering increase is due in part to ever-rising demand for wines from this phenomenal region. In fact, last year for the fi rst time in our history, Burgundy overtook Bordeaux as the largest category of wine sold at HDH auction. But our growing Burgundy sales also point to our larger evolution as a company. Since 2012, HDH has grown by over 60% as an auction house. We’ve worked to develop better ways to interact with clients and address their needs, and, soon, we’ll be moving to a larger location in Chicago so that we can accommodate even more business. It’s an exciting time for Burgundy and for HDH, and we’re delighted to present you with this exceptional sale. Sincerely, Paul Hart CEO HART DAVIS HART WINE CO. • France Few Regions Can Claim the Fame and Admiration That Burgundy BURGUNDY Has Enjoyed Since the Second Century
France Few regions can claim the fame and admiration that Burgundy BURGUNDY has enjoyed since the second century. Comprised of the Chablis, Côte d’Or, Côte Chalonnaise, Mâconnais and Beaujolais regions, Burgundy occupies a long and narrow stretch of vineyards in eastern France. The critical effect of terroir in Burgundy is expressed in its complex classification system. • Vineyards are divided into separate appellations along terroir France boundaries; the full range of classification levels from broadest to the most distinguished follows: District (e.g. Beaujolais or Chablis), Village (e.g. Pommard), Premier Cru (e.g. Pommard les Rugiens) and Grands Cru (e.g. Clos Vougeot). • As a result of Burgundy’s rules of inheritance, vineyard ownership is quite fragmented, with multiple owners for most crus. The Clos de Vougeot vineyard, for example, is split between 80 different owners. • Though soils vary, clay and limestone predominate in the Côte d’Or and granite is common in Beaujolais. We are deeply gratified by the response that we have received among collectors and restaurateurs worldwide. Here are some of the highlights of our first year: • $9.5 million of wine sold at auction • 97% of auction lots sold • Bids received from 36 states and 14 countries. • Our September 2005 auction broke the record for the largest wine auction ever held in Chicago, besting auctions held by Christie’s, Sotheby’s and Davis & Co.! University, 2 Bomun-ro 34da gil, Seongbuk-gu, Seoul, Republic of Korea Abstract Cryptography has always been a core component of security domain. Different security services such as confidentiality, integrity, availability, authentication, non-repudiation and access control, are provided by a number of cryptographic algorithms including block ciphers, stream ciphers and hash functions. Though the algorithms are public and cryptographic strength depends on the usage of the keys, the ciphertext analysis using different functions and operations used in the algorithms can lead to the path of revealing a key completely or partially. It is hard to find any survey till date which identifies different operations and functions used in cryptography. In this paper, we have categorized our survey of cryptographic functions and operations in the algorithms in three categories: block ciphers, stream ciphers and cryptanalysis attacks which are executable in different parts of the algorithms. This survey will help the budding researchers in the society of crypto for identifying different operations and functions in cryptographic algorithms. Keywords: cryptography; block; stream; cipher; plaintext; ciphertext; functions; research problems 1. Introduction Cryptography [1] in the previous time was analogous to encryption where the main task was to convert the readable message to an unreadable format.
