The Hollow is a dynamic alternative-rock band was forged in the fall of 2013 and is the brain-child of Spencer Townshend Hughes. (Frontman / Rhythm Guitarist). They possess a tightly focused sound that threatens to transform the pedestrian landscape of contemporary rock & roll. With thoughtfully layered guitars built upon a hard-driving rhythm section, their powerful music espouses beguiling lyrics and infectious melodies that evoke modern rock icons such as Queens of the Stone Age and MUSE. Spencer & Jonathan Bray (Backup Vocals / Lead Guitar) have worked on other rock projects before like Avenues & Reservoirs and the first iteration of The Hollow: Into the Hollow. Jonathan took on a more active role in the band helping drive digital marketing into the mix, shredding guitars, and tasty harmonies for the band. Spencer writes with drummer, producer, dear friend, and mentor, Sid Riggs (Drummer: Sinisstar and 2wo, Audio Engineer). The rock mentorship Sid provides has been instrumental (no pun intended) to us as aspiring musical entrepreneurs, willing to put in the work to rise in the rock ranks. They have also been fortunate enough to have found wise counsel from Bob Marlette (Producer: Filter, Rob Zombie, Alice Cooper, Black Sabbath, Tracy Chapman, Marilyn Manson, and our personal favorite, Anvil) who has provided immense guidance on how to craft the sound, play the part, and do it all authentically. Die Nachricht ist noch ziemlich frisch: Adrian Vandenberg hat seine vor allem in den 1980er-Jahren sehr erfolgreiche Band Vandenberg mit runderneuerter Besetzung wieder auf die Beine gestellt. Neben dem inzwischen 65-Jährigen selbst gehören Ronnie Romero, der Sänger von Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow, als stimmgewaltiger neuer Frontmann sowie Randy van der Elsen (zuletzt bei der NWoBHM-Band Tank) und Schlagzeuger Koen Herfst (Studiomusiker unter anderem für Bobby Kimball, Epica und Doro) zur reformierten Gruppe. Das Comeback-Album „2020” erschien am 29. Mai diesen Jahres als CD, digital, und als LP mit beigelegtem Download-Code bei der Mascot Label Group. Und, was soll man sagen? Natürlich chartete das Album in die TOP-50 der deutschen Albumcharts! Adrian Vandenberg – eigentlich: Adrianus van den Berg – spielte Ende der 1970er-Jahre bei der niederländischen Band Teaser, bevor er 1981 seine eigene Gruppe Vandenberg gründete. Nach drei Alben („Vandenberg”, „Heading for a Storm”, „Alibi”) und ausgiebigem Touren ereilte ihn der Ruf des früheren Deep-Purple-Sängers David Coverdale.
