The Toastmasters season has kicked off and the local Blarney Toastmasters Club have had a great start. Their meeting room in The Woollen Mills has been packed to capacity for their first two meetings, with regular mem- bers and guests curious to sample the Toastmasters expe- rience. It was great to see that most of those guests, who had attended on the opening evening, came back for the second meeting, with several of them indicating surprise that they found the meetings so enjoyable. The open evening was a great success. The real highlight of the night was Fergal O Callaghan’s presentation on ‘Chocolate’. We were treated to a wealth of information about chocolate, covering everything from its his- tory and how it is made, to how in the right quantities it is good for us but very bad for our dogs. Colon Hydrotherapy is a method of cleansing the colon by using specialized dis- posable equipment, purified warm water and abdominal massage giving the colon a thorough cleanse. This results in a rapid detox. The system used is fully enclosed and odour free. Why have a colonic? To feel better. Digestion slows down by eating wrong food combinations, or unsuitable food, by stress, or emotional upset, and drinking too little fluids. Every time this happens there will be some retention in the colon. A colon hydrotherapy treatment can help reverse this process, improving your overall sense of well being, giving you a clearer mind and improved energy. How do we become toxic? Common signs of the presence of toxic matter in the colon include, constipation, headaches, backaches, bad breath, body odour, fatigue, irritability, confusion, skin problems, abdominal gas, bloating, diarrhea. Two or more of these symp- toms may indicate toxicity. How effective is a colonic? It is particularly useful for health maintenance, improving the effectiveness of the immune system and for the prevention of various diseases, or to kick start weight loss or a detox diet. It is also useful for certain pre and postoperative conditions. The first treatment starts a detoxification process that takes six weeks to com- plete. For here were 21 young fellas about to fly out to the town of practice matches with Firenze RFC of Italy and Castille Y Leon from Spain. There Rodez in the south of France to participate in the international Top 12 rugby was little doubt that both the high quality of rugby that was in evidence and top weekend event. temperatures would prove challenging factors for the tournament that was to take place the following day. Sunday morning brought another bright blue sky with golden sun and the teams lined up on the pitch for the opening ceremony. As each country’s national anthem was played there were a few folks who appeared to have something in their eye such was the emotion of the occasion. Muskerry had been pooled with four other French teams for their mornings sport; Aviron Bayonnais, Nice Cote d’Azur, Colomiers and Six Fournais. This wasn’t going to be easy but Muskerry RFC are not known for being a forgiving opposition and although beaten in each of the mornings games proudly held French rugby giants Bayonnais and Colomiers to a one point difference in each game. After a spot of lunch the Munster men found themselves in a more international pool for the afternoon. With some great examples of strong forward play and open running rugby from their backs the lads drew in their games against Los Teros of Argentina and TVS Heidelberg of Germany and enjoyed winning success against Rodez of France and Belfast RFC. To have the opportunity to play teams from such a wide variety of countries was a great treat for the lads of Inniscarra parish and a fantastic example of sport reaching out across different cultures. New friends were made, a lot of fun was had and although Muskerry RFC might not be a familiar name in international rugby circles it’s a name that will be remembered by the teams they met under the blue skies of Rodez.
