It employs roughly 389,000 associates worldwide (as of December 31, 2016). The company generated sales of 73.1 billion euros in 2016. Its operations are divided into four business sectors: Mobility Solutions, Industrial Technology, Consumer Goods, and Energy and Building Technology. As a leading IoT company, Bosch offers innovative solutions for smart homes, smart cities, connected mobility, and connected manufacturing. It uses its ex- pertise in sensor technology, software, and services, as well as its own IoT cloud, to offer its customers connected, cross-domain solutions from a single source. The Bosch Group’s strategic objective is to create solutions for a connected life. Bosch improves quality of life worldwide with products and services that are innovative and spark enthusiasm. In short, Bosch creates technology that is “Invented for life.” The Bosch Group comprises Robert Bosch GmbH and its roughly 440 subsidiaries and regional companies in some 60 countries. Including sales and service partners, Bosch’s global manufacturing, engineering, and sales network covers nearly every country in the world. The basis for the company’s future growth is its innovative strength. At 120 locations across the globe, Bosch employs some 59,000 associates in research and development. The company was set up in Stuttgart in 1886 by Robert Bosch (1861–1942) as “Workshop for Precision Mechanics and Electrical Engineering.” The special ownership structure of Robert Bosch GmbH guarantees the entrepreneurial freedom of the Bosch Group, making it possible for the company to plan over the long term and to undertake significant up-front investments in the safeguarding of its future. Ninety-two percent of the share capital of Robert Bosch GmbH is held by Robert Bosch Stiftung GmbH, a charitable foundation. The majority of voting rights are held by Robert Bosch Industrietreuhand KG, an industrial trust. The entrepreneurial ownership functions are carried out by the trust. The remaining shares are held by the Bosch family and by Robert Bosch GmbH. In this study, we are keen to understand the role of intellectual property (IP) and particularly, its usage by firms innovating for a sustainable future. Unfortunately, little is known about how IP impacts sustainability transitions. To contribute to a better understanding, we chose to investigate IP usage by award - winning green innovators. We study the winners of the European Inventor Award, a highly prestigious international prize, awarded annually by the European Patent Office since 2006. Among all 210 awardees, we identified 52 winners that we classified as green innovators. Our analysis shows that closed and semi-open IP, particularly non-exclusive licensing, are the preferred IP strategies for green innovations. The IP strategy preferences seem to vary across technology domains.

  • Satzung Wasserverband Rems Präambel
    SATZUNG WASSERVERBAND REMS PRÄAMBEL: Die Rems ist auf weiten Strecken ein naturfernes, im Wesentlichen den technischen Zwecken der Vorflut dienendes Gewässer. Das Hochwasserschutzkonzept und der Verbandsplan des WV Rems orientieren sich daher nicht nur an den Nutzungszielen des Menschen, sondern bezieht auch die Belange des Naturschutzes und der Land- schaftspflege mit ein. Daher legte die Planungsgemeinschaft Rems mit der Integrier- ten Flussgebietsuntersuchung Rems (IFU Rems) 1995 ein ökologisch abgeprüftes Hochwasserschutzkonzept und 1996 ein ökologisches Gewässerentwicklungskonzept für den gesamten 80 km langen Remslauf vor. Das Hochwasserschutzkonzept der IFU Rems strebt einen Hochwasserschutz an, der einem ca. 100-jährlichen Abfluss entspricht. Jeder Gewässerausbau hat eine Abflussverschärfung für die Unterlieger zur Folge. Es ist deshalb Ziel des Wasserverbandes, den Abfluss soweit als möglich durch Rückhal- tung zu dämpfen. Zusätzlich zum Hochwasserschutz strebt der Wasserverband Rems die Aufwertung der Gewässerlandschaft und die ökologische Verbesserung der Rems an. Nachdem bis zum Jahre 2008 die drei Hochwasserrückhalteräume 1 Schwäbisch Gmünd/Reichenhof, 9 Lorch/Waldhausen und 6 Schorndorf/Winterbach errichtet worden waren, entstanden Überlegungen, den Rückhalteraum 4 erst auf der Grundlage einer Fortschreibung des Verbandsplans zu realisieren. In der Verbands- versammlung am 27.3.2012 wurde dazu einstimmig der Grundsatzbeschluss gefasst: „Der Wasserverband Rems hält fest an den Verbandsaufgaben: Hochwasserschutz an der Rems durch Realisierung der überörtlichen Hochwasserschutzmaßnahmen des Hochwasserschutzkonzepts der IFU Rems 1997 Örtlicher Hochwasserschutz bebauter Ortslagen oberhalb des Stauraums 1, der nicht durch zentrale Rückhaltungen erreicht werden kann Ökologische Gewässerentwicklung der Rems und der Mündungsbereiche der Seitengewässer Verbandsziel ist der Schutz der Ortslagen bei einem 100-jährlichen Hochwasser der Rems.“ Die Verbandsversammlung hat deshalb in Folge dieses Beschlusses am 16.
