MATTHIASSON FAMILY VINEYARD MATTHIASSON is a family endeavor, the effort of Steve and Jill Klein Matthiasson, and their “TENDU” RED WINE two young sons. Steve & Jill both have had life-long careers in sustainable agriculture, and they apply those ideals of balance, restraint, and respect for the individual—and for the whole—to their wine. Their production is simple but careful. This concept is central to the tradition of viticulture and winemaking. Respect for this tradition forms the core of their work. To that end, their hands literally touch every vine and every bottle. Varietal/Blend: 47% Aglianico, 42% Montepulciano and 11% Barbera Farming: practicing organic (non-certified). HIGHLAND FINE WINE NOVEMBER 2020 HALF CASE- REDS MATCHBOOK ESTATE ‘RED GRAVEL’ 2019, DUNNIGAN HILLS AVA, CALIFORNIA $16.99 (MIXED) Dunnigan Hills is an AVA located in the north-west of Yolo County, within California's larger Central Valley wine region. The hills here are typified by soils that consist mostly of free-draining gravelly loams, excellent for the production of quality wine grapes. A lack of water in the soil reduces vigor in the vines and leads to lower yields of more-concentrated fruit. The Mediterranean climate produces warm, dry days and cool nights, which help to preserve the grapes' natural acidity. Who doesn’t love a Cabernet from California by a fire on a chilly November evening? And it makes a great ‘host’ gift for Thanksgiving! BADIA A COLTIBUONO CETAMURA CHIANTI 2018, TUSCANY, ITALY $14.99 (MIXED) Cetamura is the name of an Etruscan settlement on the Badia a Coltibuono property. This wine was conceived with the intention of creating a young, pleasant wine, perfect for every day. Intense bright ruby red, cherry and blackberry nose with cinnamon and clove nuances. Full and well-balanced, soft but tasty, with good structure. Pleasant acidity, clean and persistent aftertaste. Sangiovese is the star varietal here with support from Canaiolo, which brings a certain softness to this attractively priced wine. Lamb would be an ideal pairing here…but honestly so would a well considered cheese plate. Invite a friend over to enjoy! LECHUZA GARNACHA 2018, CARINENA, SPAIN $14.99 (MIXED) Fancy dinner or free spirited weekend, Garnacha is the choice for any special occasion.

This elegant Cabernet Sauvignon was crafted entirely on our Matchbook Estate in the Dunnigan Hills of California. Every step from vine to bottle was done on our home turf and under the watchful eye of the Giguiere family and our winemakers. The 2016 is a classic Cabernet that showcases the quality and potential of both the Matchbook Vineyards and the Dunnigan Hills AVA. The 2016 Matchbook Cabernet Sauvignon joins our Old Head Chardonnay, Syrah and Rosé of Tempranillo in our Estate Bottled line-up. Few wineries attain the prestigious Estate Bottled designation due to the time and resources required. At Matchbook, we have always been and continue to be focused on innovation, sustainability and, most importantly, quality. ©2017 MATCHBOOK WINE COMPANY, ZAMORA, CA 95698 ALC 13.9% WINE COMPANY, ©2017 MATCHBOOK 1 of 2 www.matchbookwines.com Matchbook Estate Vineyards & Dunnigan Hills Geography & Climate: Just East of Napa, the Dunnigan Hills are a group of low rolling hills about 20 miles long, running in a northwest to southeasterly direction. At the widest point, Dunnigan Hills spans 10 miles. The soils are predominantly gravel, well drained and gently sloping. The Dunnigan Hills AVA is warmer in both summer and winter, making it less prone to frost damage. The hills provide excellent air flow making Dunnigan Hills cooler than the surrounding areas. Matchbook Estate Cabernet Sauvignon Vineyards: Designed, planted and farmed specifically for the Dunnigan Hills climate and soils, the Matchbook Estate Vineyards produce fruit of exceptional quality providing the foundation for our award winning wines. The Dunnigan Hills’ climate favors early bud break and a long growing season for full flavor development.
