A Merit Scholarship for Graduating High School Seniors

About the Chancellor’s Scholarship: The Chancellor’s Scholarship is awarded to two (2) high school seniors with up to $3,000 per student per academic year ($1,500 for fall semester and $1,500 for spring semester) to fund tuition and fees toward an associate degree at Ivy Tech Community College Northeast. Unused scholarship funds can be used for classes during the summer semester.

The Chancellor’s Scholarship may be renewed the second year, providing up to a total for two (2) years of $6,000. The first year award will be renewed providing the recipient remains in good standing and maintains a minimum of 3.2 GPA while at Ivy Tech Northeast. The recipient must commit to full-time enrollment (minimum of 12 credit hours per fall and spring terms). Online courses are not eligible for scholarship funding.

Scholarship Eligibility: In to qualify for the Chancellor’s Scholarship, the applicant must meet the criteria listed below. The award recipients will then be selected by a scholarship committee comprised of Ivy Tech Northeast staff and faculty members.

Applicant must:  Be in the top 15% of his/her high school class or have a 3.2 (equivalent) cumulative GPA.  Anticipate earning an Academic Honors or Core 40 diploma.  Submit an official high school transcript with the application.  Submit two (2) letters of recommendation with the application. Recommendations must come from persons familiar with the student’s academic achievement and/or high school or community contributions such as a counselor, teachers, coach, extra-curricular activity advisor, , etc. Letters of recommendation from family members will not meet the letter requirement.  Present a personal statement essay comprised of no less than 500 words (about a page, double spaced) describing his/her academic and professional goals.  Submit an Ivy Tech Community College Northeast admissions application or have a current admis- sions application on file in the Admissions office (SL 214).
