Box 40007 ♦ Bellevue, WA 98005-4007 Our members are the Puget Summary Report Sound Chapters of the: 2009 PSEC Order of the Engineer Induction Ceremony nd American Institute of Aeronautics and PSEC’s 2 Order of the Engineer Astronautics induction ceremony (Ring Ceremony) th American Public Works Association was held on April 17 at the Silver Cloud Inn in the University District of Seattle. American Society of Civil Engineers The ceremony was held in conjunction American Society of Heating, with the kick-off of the Society of Refrigerating & Air - Conditioning Engineers Women Engineer’s (SWE) Region J Conference. The event was organized American Society of Mechanical Engineers by Kelly Griswold (SWE’s PSEC Representative). Unfortunately, Kelly American Welding Society was out of town on the day of the event ASM International and Paul Grant, PSEC’s President, Institute of Electrical and Electronics presided over the ceremony. Engineers The event was originally slated to induct 15 Institute of Industrial Engineers individuals. However 2 individuals had conflicts and International Council of System could not attend. On the day of the event, there were Engineers 3 walk-ins that signed up for the induction, bringing Society for the Advancement of the total to 16. Material and Process Engineering Due to the warm sunny weather and heavy traffic, the Society of American Military Engineers ceremony started a few minutes late at about 6:15 pm. Society of Automotive Engineers After the welcoming of the inductees and opening Society of Manufacturing Engineers remarks by PSEC President Paul Grant, five members of Society of Women Engineers – Pacific the Order of the Engineer helped to facilitate the induction. Melissa Mormilo of SWE gave Northwest Section an overview of the history of the Order; Samantha Bronner, also with SWE, then gave an Society of Women Engineers – South overview of the significance of the ring. George Balagtas of the Institute of Electrical & Puget Sound Section Electronics Engineers led the oath of the Obligation of the Engineer; Garth Merrill of the Structural Engineers Association of American Society of Civil Engineers Washington (ASCE) presented both the rings and the Washington Society of Professional certificates to the inductees; finally, Engineers – Lake Washington Section Joshua Alcantara, also with ASCE, Washington Society of Professional provided concluding remarks welcoming Engineers – Seattle Section the inductees into the Order and also Washington Society of Professional reminding them of the importance of Engineers – Mt. Rainier Section their responsibilities. We flew her to our Squadron's (the 549th) staging base in Glasgow, Montana, and then on to join the 385th Bombardment Groyp at our combat base, Great Ashfield, in England.
