    February 6, 2020 Seoul, Korea ISU Four Continents Figure Skating Championships 2020 Day One Madison Hubbell/Zachary Donohue (USA), Rika Kihira (JPN) and Kirsten Moore-Towers/Michael Marinaro (CAN) took the lead as the ISU Four Continents Figure Skating Championships opened in Seoul (KOR) Thursday with the Rhythm Dance, Pairs and Ladies Short Programs. 100 skaters from 12 ISU members have been entered for this 21th edition of the Four Continents Championships: 25 Men, 21 Ladies, 11 Pair Skating couples and 16 Ice Dance couples. Seoul has hosted the ISU Four Continents Figure Skating Championship once before in 2015. Hubbell/Donohue (USA) edge Chock/Bates (USA) in Rhythm Dance in Seoul Madison Hubbell/Zachary Donohue (USA) edged teammates Madison Chock/Evan Bates by just 0.19 points in the Rhythm Dance. Canada’s Piper Gilles/Paul Poirier are not far behind in third place. Skating to “My Heart Belongs to Daddy”, Hubbell/Donohue picked up a level four for the twizzles, the straight line lift and the Finnstep Pattern Dance sequence while the Pattern Dance type step sequence and the midline step sequence were rated a level three. The 2019 World bronze medalists achieved a season’s best with 85.95 points. “It’s been a quick turnaround between Nationals and Four Continents. We really wanted to focus on being precise and confident and we feel like we did that today,” Hubbell said. “So our main focus was the mental aspect, staying focused and really putting out a performance that would be competitive here in this field and we accomplished that

The Internationaux de France de Patinage is the fifth of six events of the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating series 2017/18. A total of 58 skaters/couples from 15 ISU members compete in France. Osmond (CAN) captures Ladies Short Program in Grenoble World silver medalist Kaetlyn Osmond, of Canada, captured the Ladies Short Program. Russia’s Maria Sotskova is close behind in second place followed by Yuna Shiraiwa, of Japan. Skating to ‘Sous le ciel de Paris’ and ‘Milord’, Osmond landed a triple flip-double toe and a triple Lutz, but the combination was shaky and she put her hand down on the Lutz. The Canadian Champion recovered to complete a double Axel as well as level-four spins and footwork to score 69.05 points. “Definitely there were a few things in my program I’m not too excited about,” Osmond said.

    2021 Toyota U.S. Figure Skating Championships January 11-21, 2021 Las Vegas | The Orleans Arena Media Information and Story Ideas The U.S. Figure Skating Championships, held annually since 1914, is the nation’s most prestigious figure skating event. The competition crowns U.S. champions in ladies, men’s, pairs and ice dance at the senior and junior levels. The 2021 U.S. Championships will serve as the final qualifying event prior to selecting and announcing the U.S. World Figure Skating Team that will represent Team USA at the ISU World Figure Skating Championships in Stockholm. The marquee event was relocated from San Jose, California, to Las Vegas late in the fall due to COVID-19 considerations. San Jose meanwhile was awarded the 2023 Toyota U.S. Championships, marking the fourth time that the city will host the event. Competition and practice for the junior and Championship competitions will be held at The Orleans Arena in Las Vegas. The event will take place in a bubble format with no spectators. It is located at The Orleans Hotel and Casino and is operated by Coast Casinos, a subsidiary of Boyd Gaming Corporation. ISU World Figure Skating Ice Dance silver medalists Victoria Sinitsina/Nikita Katsapalov (RUS) have just won their first ISU Grand Prix gold medal at Shiseido Cup of China last week and want to seal their spot.
