ABOVE is a picture of the five young men with their wives taken after ordination at the Southeast Asia Union College church on Sabbath afternoon, January 8, 1977. Those taking part in the ordination service were, Pastor R. E. Finney, Jr., Pastor W. L. Wilcox, Pastor Daniel Tan, Pastor W. E. Amundson, Pastor T. K. Chong and Pastor Joshua Mok. The ordination of these young men will help to strengthen the work of God in the West Malaysia-Singapore Mission. All ordained ministers present during the service and the members of the congregation extended the hand of welcome and congratulated them. Pastor Ng Gan Theow serves as chaplain of the Youngberg Memorial Adventist Hospital as well as being the pastor of the hospital church. Pastor Phoon Chek Yat is not only serving as pastor of two churches in Muar and Melaka but he is also the Acting Youth and Temperance Director of the mission. Pastor Pham is the associate pastor of the Balestier Road church. Pastor Sim Chor Kiat pastors the Dunman Road church and Pastor Danson Ng, the Queenstown English church. May God bless those who have been newly ordained to move forward in faith in a strong way.

-To train the young to become true soldiers of the Lord Jesus Christ is the most noble work ever given to man. Only devout and consecrated men and women, who love children and can see in them souls to be saved for the Master, should be chosen as church school teachers. Teachers who study the word of God as it should be studied will know something of the value of the souls under their care, and from them the children will receive a true Christian education. "In the closing scenes of this earth's history, many of these children and youth will astonish people by their witness to the truth, which will be borne in simplicity, yet with spirit and power. They have been taught the fear of the Lord, and their hearts have been softened by a careful and prayerful study of the Bible." CT, 166 January-Febuary, 1977 THE MESSENGER 9
