You had asked for a. few elements that mLght be used in a letter to thank rny _husband,JTom, for lie voluntary work that he did for WFP. Just recently the internal WFP web site called WFP GO displayed some two dozen of his pictures in gratitude for the many hours of probono work. Attached is a copy _of a recent tribute that accompanied those photos. The Executive Tom has travelled to every continent where WPP operates at his own expense Director and has donated thousands of pictures to the Programme. One of our Board Members said publicly that his photoworks have created the face of WFP - his pictures of beneficiaries are dignified, captivating photos of people living their daily lives.

Sincerely,

Catherine Bertini

Photo Gallery - A Thank You to Tom Baskett (from WFPGo)

In celebration of this year's International Women's Day and the farewell to Executive Director Catherine Bertini, we take this opportunity to recognise an individual who has generously volunteered his time and artistic talent to WFP over the past decade.

Since 1992, Tom Haskell has travelled the world, taking photographs of WFP operations and the people we serve. From Rwanda and to and Afghanistan, Tom has been by our side, with camera in hand to capture WFP in action. His donated photographs have adorned our web site and numerous WFP publications, annual reports and posters. Often his photographs of Angola, Sudan and other emergencies have been used along with WFP press releases and picked up by the media to show WFP working on the front line; his 1997 "Newsweek coyer photo of a North Korean famine victim is but one example.

Because of Tom's enthusiasm, dedication and hard work on WFP's behalf, we wanted to share some of our favourites of his and to thank him for helping to show WFP at work in the fight against hunger.

Thanks Tom.
