The most popular attraction is a giant, tethered hot air balloon, which flies 150m into the air, offering unbeatable views of the city. On the ground, there are also a range of games and activities to suit all ages. From Parc André Citroën it’s a 15-minute drive to Fondation Louis Vuitton.

The final destination of the day can be reached by car in 15 minutes.

Myriad interactive exhibits and live experiments engage and inspire both children and adults, and the fascinating planetarium is a particular highlight. To get back to the hotel, it’s a 10-minute walk or a five-minute drive.

Day two Begin the day with a 20-minute walk or a five-minute drive from the hotel to La Grande roue de la . 75008 Paris Place de la Concorde is the largest public square in Paris – positioned between Grand Palais and Jardin des Tuileries – and is famous for the giant 3,300-year-old Egyptian that stands at the centre of the plaza. Then, take a 20-minute drive or a 35-minute walk along the River Seine to Le Jardin des Plantes.

The 28-hectare garden features an enormous rose garden, and several exotic greenhouses where colourful plants and flowers from across the globe are grown. It is also the site of one of the world’s oldest zoos, with over a thousand small and medium-sized creatures including spiders, tortoises and snow leopards. To reach the next location, it’s a 20-minute drive back over the Seine.

PARC ZOOLOGIQUE DE PARIS T: 0811 22 41 22 | Bois de , Avenue Daumesnil, 75012 Paris Located in the largest public park in the city, , the zoo should be at the top of the itinerary for animal lovers. Visit to see over 2,000 animals from all over the globe, from giraffes and lions to jaguars, monkeys, penguins, and many more. There are also family tours available as well as educational presentations and feeding sessions, which visitors can watch. Stop off at Cité de la Musique on the way back to the hotel, just a 10-minute drive from the park.

CITÉ DE LA MUSIQUE T: 01 44 84 44 84 | 221 Avenue Jean Jaurès, 75019 Paris If your children love music, finish the tour with a crescendo at Cité de la Musique, Paris Philharmonic. The musical institution houses concert halls, rehearsal rooms and museum exhibition spaces showcasing thousands of treasured instruments. Numerous fun and educational activities are also available for aspiring musicians of all ages. The itinerary ends with a 30-minute drive back to the hotel.
