A10 • Okmulgee Times Friday, January 22, 2021 Lions updated on Okmulgee Young Professionals

Tuesday’s Okmulgee Lions Club program was pre- sented by one of our own newer Lions members, Lane Pilkington of Schaudt’s Funeral Services, on one of Okmulgee’s newest organizations, the Okmulgee Young Professionals. And who could not miss the op- portunity to insert the old-familiar-pun, he’d be the last to let you down. But there is more truth than story in the pun if you’re talking about Pilkington be- cause, not only in his business life, but also in his daily personal life. I have known his family for many, many, many years. The Young Professionals was “organized” in 2017, (I believe) as an off-shoot of the Okmulgee Neighbor- hood Revitalization Program (ONRP), not sponsored nor funded by the City of Okmulgee but, rather, relied on volunteers and donations for it’s backing.
