Jason Newsted, Art and Loud
Jason Newsted: Art Out Loud By Juan Sagarbarria ! JUPITER, FL October 30, 2017 An energetic and highly amplified electronic rock music having a hard beat, that is how Merriam-Webster defines heavy metal. If there was a viable channel in which to personify this description, then Jason Newsted would surely be one of its embodiments. A six-time Grammy winner, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame artist, Newsted—also known as “Jasonic”—is the former bassist of the band that arguably bred the metal genre—Metallica. From 1986 to 2001, Newsted forged his name in the annals of rock history with his beefy, fast-paced, and at times, nostalgic bass lines, as Metallica took the world by storm. Eternal staples like “Enter Sandman,” “The Unforgiven,” “Nothing Else Matters,” “One,” and “Fuel,” are but a brief sampling of the songs that were hatched during Newsted’s tenure. By singing lead on a few songs during the band’s live performances and astounding countless audiences with his remarkable bass solos, Newsted stamped his musical footprint. He even took over lead vocals for a whole show at the Kentucky Speedway during the 1999 Summer Sanitarium Tour, while frontman James Hetfield recovered from injury—and fiercely delivered. “I got to join my favorite band,” Newsted remarks. “I got real, real f***** lucky and got to travel around the world five times. Just imagine being in a dreamlike state for 15 years—that is the only way I could sum up what the experience entailed. Suffice it to say, I had too much fun.” Upon meeting Newsted, my impression of him was that, although he did not have his characteristic long hair that flailed aggressively during his early days with Metallica, he is still as spirited as ever; a character’s character. -
Getting Our Hearts, Houses & Hubs in Order 2012 State of the City
Getting Our Hearts, Houses & Hubs In Order 2012 State Of The City Address Mayor C. Kim Bracey April 12, 2012: 6 p.m. Central Market City of York, Pennsylvania Congressman Platts, State Representatives, County Commissioners, City Council members, directors, front-line staff, members of City boards and authorities, representatives of the York City School District, former Mayor John Brenner, guests, my family, and a special friend all the way from California, I am honored to join you in York’s social hall and cathedral, historic Central Market to report on the State of our City. First, I want to thank all of our city citizens for working through tough economic and fiscal times to keep our city strong. As an Air Force veteran, I also want to thank our men and women in the armed services here with us tonight for your service to a grateful nation. York’s Central Market has been a cherished living tradition since 1888. In 1842, 45 years before our city even was incorporated and 46 years before this market was built, the famous English author, Charles Dickens, visited York. Just a few yards away from here, Dickens dined and stayed at the White Hall Hotel, now the preserved National House. This is the soon-to-be-opened “Good Dog Taproom”, which will add to downtown’s reputation as the county’s craft beer and social epicenter. It is fitting that visitors to the old White Hall Hotel will be tilting back pints once again, as if the ghost of Dickens, the author of A Tale of Two Cities, lingers. -

Blues Rock Star Joe Bonamassa Announces Highly Anticipated New Studio Album
BLUES-ROCK STAR JOE BONAMASSA ANNOUNCES NEW SINGLE "TIME CLOCKS" TAKEN FROM HIS NEW STUDIO ALBUM 'TIME CLOCKS' TO BE RELEASED OCT 29 PRE-ORDER “TIME CLOCKS” https://smarturl.it/JoeB-MLG LISTEN TO THE “TIME CLOCKS” SINGLE HERE: https://smarturl.it/JoeBonamassa WATCH THE MUSIC VIDEO FOR “TIME CLOCKS” HERE: https://youtu.be/Z7116ryQV-I Guitar legend Joe Bonamassa today reveals his stunningly sweeping new single, "Time Clocks." This is the third song taken from his forthcoming brand-new studio album of the same name, released on October 29 via Provogue (Europe) and J&R Adventures (North America). Joe continues his soul-searching evolution on this beautifully poignant Bonamassa-Shirley penned song. At just over seven minutes long, it has all the epic musical grandeur of him at his most expressive and ambitious. With a heart on sleeve narrative weaving its way throughout, the rousing chorus rises to the heavens as he sings, "and the rain soaking through my coat, about to capsize my boat I push it along away from the docks, I was never a good puncher of time clocks." Backed with cascading vocals from Juanita Tippins and Prinnie Stevens, as well as the supreme musicianship of Anton Fig (Drums), Steve Mackey (Bass), Lachy Doley (Piano/Organ) and Kevin Shirley (Percussion), it has an aura of pure timelessness. The album was recorded in New York City and took Joe back to his early roots and rediscovers him at a newfound peak with an unparalleled Blues Rock prowess. Known as the man in the suit, loved by many as the ultimate guitar hero, and cited by critics as "the world's biggest blues guitarist" (Guitar World), somehow the music mastermind has found yet another layer of immense new artistry to share with his fans. -

The campaigning officially kicked off midnight on March 25, with two candidates in the race to become the new SA president, David Lyman and Daniel Kreutzer. "As president, you're not speak- ing as one person," says Lyman, who is currently the vice-presi- dent of finance and administra- tion, "you're speaking on behalf of 5,500 people." Lyman is running against Kreutzer, a second-year Business Administration student. "May the best man win," Kreutzer says, the atmosphere rife with the formality and prudence of politick as both men consider every word spoken in front of a Projector reporter. Three hopefuls are vying for the position of Vice-President of Student Affairs: Shubert Beaubrun, Ethan Stock and Jonathan Menec. The final posi- tion of Vice-President of Financial and Support Services has only one nominee, Lars Vik. Daniel Kreutzer (left) and David Lyman are vying for your vote in the Students' Association presidential race. Candidates were given a list of important RRC issues, including being subject to penalty points, or about the vandalism. -
