From London, avoiding Oxford in heavy traffic: From London: Note: major roadworks at Oxford rounda- M40 to Junction 9 bouts until Spring 2016 make this the less favourable A34 towards Oxford route at peak times Take B4027, passing through Bletchingdon M40 to Junction 8 Cross over A4260, pass through Wootton and Glympton A40 towards Oxford/Cheltenham. Go through 2 rounda- Turn right onto A44 bouts After 400 yards, turn left for Ditchley (signposted Ditchley) A44, signposted Evesham/Woodstock. Go through Wood- Driving onto the Ditchley estate: stock. Four miles north of Woodstock, at Kiddington cross- Follow single-track road one mile (keeping right). roads, turn left for Ditchley (signposted Ditchley) At the Lodge, ignoring ‘Private’ sign, pass through iron gates (if Follow directions onto estate, as above closed, they will swing open). Bear left at next fork (at the oak tree). Drive to main entrance of the house. From The West or South West: From Burford (B4437) or Witney (B4022) to Charlbury: From The South: Enter Charlbury, following signs to Woodstock A34 from Newbury, by-passing Oxford (from Burford) or to Burford (from Witney) A44 towards Blenheim and Evesham From the road named ‘The Slade’, turn into Ditchley Road Four miles north of Woodstock, at Kiddington crossroads, (right turn from Witney, left turn from Burford) turn left for Ditchley (signposted Ditchley) Follow single track road for two miles across farmland to Follow directions onto estate, as above the main entrance of the house
From The North: From Heathrow: As for ‘From London, avoiding Oxford in heavy traffic’ (above) Exit via M4 towards M25/Gatwick Airport At Junction 4B, take M25 S to M3/M23/Heathrow/Gatwick Follow signs for M25 N/M40/M1/Oxford/Watford Join M25 By Rail: At Junction 16, take M40 W towards Birmingham/Oxford Merge onto M40 Charlbury Station M40 to Junction 9—continue as for ‘From London’, above (London Paddington to Hereford line)
