Number of calls Posting Agree/ Telephone in last 12 Completed Adopt/ Number Address Post Code months Date Object Comments/Reasons The District Council objects to the proposed removal of both phone kiosks in Standlake and would want to see at least one retained. Standlake is one of the larger settlements in its sub-area with a population of about 1,300 and a range of local services and facilities, particularly recreational activities. Parish Council notes the poor mobile network coverage locally. Proximity to social housing. Email from Standlake Parish Councillor (17/10/11): Area Standlake: I should not wish to see our payphones removed. We have a very erratic and sometimes non-existent signal for some mobile phones and during power cuts many landlines (the ones on the Giga clear fibre optic network) also fail to connect. Payphones are our last resort in an emergency. We need to keep them. Email from Standlake Parish Clerk (12/11/16): Standlake PC would resist the removal of the 2 public telephones in the village for the following reasons. There are a growing number of residents who rely exclusively on mobile phone coverage which is, depending on carrier, non-existent, very patchy and/or intermittent in many parts of the village. In addition, a growing number of residents use fibre optic broadband connection for phone service, as well as internet access, and during power cuts this becomes unavailable. In an emergency, access to a public telephone would be vital to both these groups. I would also point out that the post codes for both phone boxes listed in the BT attachment are incorrect; the correct post code and address are listed below with the associated phone numbers and I trust you will bring this to the attention of BT. 01865 300401 Outside the Village Hall, Rack End, OX29 7SB. 01865 300883 Outside OUTSIDE VILLAGE HALL RACK END Standlake C of E Primary School, Church End, OX29 76SG 01865300401 STANDLAKE WITNEY OX29 7SA 0 05/10/2016 Object O/S MILLERS HOUSE PCO Low level of usage.
