The Hawks led by as many as 13 in the second half and Jewell was able to close the gap to six but could get no closer. Jordan Jermain and Trey Shannon came off the bench to score career highs of 14 and 11 points respectively. Eysan Wiley added his second straight double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds. • After posting his first double-double of the season last Saturday and another on Tuesday, Wiley moved into a tie for sixth among all active Division II players with 23 career double dips. Cam Martin of Missouri Southern leads all active DII players with 39 double-doubles. Wiley’s is one of only five GLVC players that appears on the national leaders list and is tops among conference players with six more than Rockhurst’s Quinton Curry. • Jackson Golightly scored five points on Tuesday to surpass the 500 point plateau for his career, which follows Mason Alexander breaking 600 on Saturday at Missouri S&T. Sophomore Jevaughn Ferguson enters Thursday’s game needing one point to reach 100 for his career while Wiley is two points from 1,200. • Jordan Jermain has been streaky during his six games this season, scoring in bunches at times, including a career-high 14 points on Tuesday. Overall, the freshman is fifth on the team with 6.3 points per game, scoring at least nine points in three of six games played. • Another underclassman that shined on Tuesday was sophomore Trey Shannon, who came off the bench to post a career-best 11 points on 3-of-5 shoot- ing, including 2-of-4 from three while also grabbing four rebounds and handing out two assists. • Jevaughn Ferguson continues to grow and is becoming more of a threat in the paint for the Cardinals every week. The sophomore big man is averaging nearly eight points and 3.3 rebounds per game. • The Cardinals are averaging 66.2 points per game, 14th in the GLVC, while allowing opponents 77.8. Defensively, Jewell continues to be one of the best from the three point line, holding opponents to just over 31% from long range. • Wiley has been a force in the paint for much of his career and being the primary focus on scouting reports has opened up an opportunity for the senior to distribute the ball more than ever before. He leads the team and is 10th in the GLVC with 3.50 assists per night, the most by any non-guard in the league. • Five of Jewell’s 18 players also played with at least one current teammate at the high school level. Hanson and Hughes both played for Liberty North from 2014-18, with Perry joining them in 2016. Additionally, Jackson Golightly and John Zimmerman were teammates for four years at Maryville High School (MO) from 2013-17. Zimmerman initially attended Northwest Missouri State but did not play basketball giving him two years of eligibility remaining com- pared to Golightly’s one. • Carter Olsen enters his third season as a Cardinal but will be listed as a senior this year as he is set to graduate in three years. Additionally, Olsen was married in the offseason to wife, Saige. • Grant Stubbs was a big pick up for the Cardinals both on the floor and amongst alumni as he is the eldest son of former Cardinal All-American Weldon Stubbs, ‘94. The senior Stubbs was inducted into the William Jewell Hall of Fame in 2016. William Jewell Men’s Basketball >>> CARDINALS NUMERICAL ROSTER ## NAME POS. HT. YR.
