DENR EMPLOYEE IN POT-SESSION ARRESTED IN SOUTH

An employee of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) was caught in the act while having a pot-session, but his cohort eluded arrest in South

Cotabato on October 14, 2019.

Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Director General Aaron N. Aquino identified the suspect as Walter John Domingo y Nedamo, 25 years old, and a Forest

Ranger assigned in CENTRO, Banga, , who was arrested at around

8:00 PM by joint elements of PDEA Regional Office XII (PDEA RO XII) under the supervision of Director Naravy D. Daquiatan, and local police in Barangay Sta. Cruz,

Tampakan, South Cotabato.

A confidential informant tipped the operatives who were at the said place for a supposed buy-bust operation, but the target drug personality did not appear. Instead, the information about an on-going pot session was immediately acted upon, resulting in the arrest of the suspect, while his cohort identified as Clyde Muninio, alias Egong eluded arrest.

Confiscated during the operation were one heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu weighing more or less 0.1 gram with an estimated value of Php680.00, and several drug paraphernalia.

The suspect will be charged for violation of Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous

Drugs), and Section 12 (Possession of Drug Paraphernalia), Article II of Republic Act

9165, or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
