With their aid he manages to build the irrigation system that he had originally intended. Becoming too weak to do any Superman the Final Days of Superman, Superman returns to his quarantine room. Supergirl leads the Legion of Super-Heroes on a number of tasks outline by Superman: They destroy a a distant planet on a collision course with Earth, collect enough metal to destroy a space fungus that threatens to destroy all life it comes into contact with, and create an artificial sun in Antarctica so that the continent can be terraformed to support Superman the Final Days of Superman life. As this is going on, Brainiac 5 works tirelessly trying to find a cure for Virus X, but fails to do so. With Superman's time running out, the Legion and Supergirl save Atlantis from the threat of a radioactively mutated sea creature. Finally, we leap back to Kal and Kara, who have traveled to the Fortress of Solitude. Kara agrees just in time for the Fortress to receive an unexpected visitor—Wonder Woman, who demands to know when Clark was planning on telling her. Unforgettable Moment: Superman the Final Days of Superman Clark discuss the weight and reward of heroism with his one living family member is undeniably moving, but we have to go with Lois tasing the evil fake Superman.

It’s a bird, it’s a plane!...It’s superman! And then we knew it was time to sit down to listen or to watch the latest episode of the superhero Superman. He was created by the minds of men in Cleveland, Ohio and made his debut in Action Comics #1 on April 18, 1938 and he has entertained us and amazed generations of people ever since. How could you not like a man who came to earth to avoid destruction, was stronger than any human being, could fly, think faster, run faster, freeze things with his breath, and on top of it all had x-ray vision. He could do anything, especially what we couldn’t. I know he was sometimes given a darker side in the modern movies, but not in the original shows. He was truly a hero who watched over and protected the people of this planet. He was invincible and could not be defeated. He had no weaknesses…except one. Kryptonite! Kryptonite was the radioactive element from his home planet of Krypton. When he got close to its ore form he was sapped of all his strength and super powers.

I have chosen to use Superman comics, from 1938 to the present day, as litmus tests for how we have societally interpreted our ideas of “success” and the “American Way.” This work is primarily a study in culture and social changes, using close reading of comic books to supply evidence. I argue that we can find three distinct periods where the definition of the American Dream has changed significantly—and the identity of Superman with it. He is speaking in Kryptonian. The building shakes, CRYSTALLINE STRUCTURES collapse around. Jor-El walks away from us, holding his wife's hand as they move to a CONTROL PANEL. Behind Jor-El, a ROBOT with blue eyes, standing as tall as a man, enters the launching bay of Jor-El's lab. A robotic voice speaks. Baby Kal-El reaches out for the robot as it walks close to Jor-El's rocket. It transforms into a SMALL SIZED ROCKET with a BLUE EGG-SHAPED NOSE CONE. EXT. OUTER SPACE The rocket ship fires away from Krypton as it EXPLODES into shards of DUST and CRYSTAL. INT. ROCKET SHIP Kal-El sleeps as the rocket increases to hyper speed. Within the craft, a soft BLUE LIGHT grows brighter, illuminating Kal-el.

Whether the Sunday comic strips or editions of Disney’s works, comic book art and narratives have been a reading catalyst. Indeed, they have played a huge role in entertaining people of all ages. However, their vocabulary, sentence structure, and overall appropriateness as a reading resource is often in doubt. Though at times too “graphic” for youth or too “childish” for adults, their use as an educational resource has merit. Such is the case with the following exercise.
