This year, the Southwick Civic Fund, the non-profit organi- zation that supports the local community, received both food for the meal as well as monetary donations to purchase more ingredients for the meal. “It gives us a cushion for the following year,” said Deedy. A free meal for all in the community, the event began at 1 p.m. on Thanksgiving. Deedy noted that more than 35 people signed up to reserve a spot for seating at the restaurant.
