Where we work

The vibrant and diverse region of Asia Pacifi c requires a prioritisation of focus areas in order to maximise resource effi ciency and optimise the ground results. We have a mandate to serve all members from the greater Asia Pacifi c region, but we are focusing geographically on Central Asia during the initial phase of decentralisation. This decision takes into account a landscape and ecosystem approach which integrates the neighbouring regions of the Hindu Kush-Himalayas. Activities are also ongoing in other parts of the region, for example , where MP members are developing collaborative activities and exploring potential cooperation with the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation India Offi ce. The Mountain Partnership

Typical activities funded by MPS APDH include • e-Survey on member needs and programme focus prioritisation (jointly with Mountain Asia Pacific Forum and Asia Pacifi c Mountain Network (APMN), an MF node) • on-line training course on Advocacy for Sustainable Mountain Development Decentralised Hub for 21 mid level professionals from 13 Asia Pacifi c countries • e-book project on Dreams of Central Asian Mountain Children • Central Asian outreach programme on sustainable mountain development
