School and Community Antioch Community High School, a four-year comprehensive school, was established in 1915. Fully accredited by the State Board of Education, Antioch Community High School serves the Northwestern Lake County community of Antioch. In a recent report, Antioch Community High School was distinguished for representing the ninth largest positive trend out of 136 suburban high schools over a ten-year span. The school day consists of eight class periods with an option for juniors and seniors to take a zero hour class. Students are able to take up to eight 50-minute classes per semester. The ACHS school year is divided into two semesters. Semester 1: August 19, 2020 – December 21, 2020 and Semester 2: January 5, 2021 – May 21, 2021.

Total enrollment for the 2020-2021 school year is 1,321 with students in grades 9-12. Senior Class – 380 Junior Class – 318 Sophomore Class – 316 Freshman Class – 309

Antioch Community High School proudly serves the Village of Antioch. Our school and surrounding community is exceptionally supportive of all academic, ath- letic, and extracurricular endeavors.

ACHS is located approximately 55 miles north of Chicago in Lake County and is within a 30 minute drive from the following high schools: Lakes, Carmel, Grayslake Central, Grayslake North, Lake Forest, Libertyville, Mundelein, Warren, and Wauconda. Directions to our school from the Chicago area: Travel I-94 West toward Milwaukee, Exit on IL-173 (Rosecrans Rd.). Travel West on IL-173 to Main St. (Route 83), the school is located on the Northeast corner of Route 173 and Main St. (Route 83).

Faculty and Staff The faculty consists of 100 full-time certified staff with five full time counselors. The student/teacher ratio is 21.3:1. In 2014, District 117 was proud to have 65.2% of all faculty members hold a master’s degree or higher, and the average faculty member’s years of experience was 11.6.
