The watches extended from 6:00 pm to 6:00 am. The fourth watch was from 3:00 to 6:00 am. It was during the fourth watch that Jesus came walking on the water to rescue his frightened apostles who were in their boat, struggling to survive a severe storm. Jesus got into the boat to calm the sea and their fears. I received a new insight into this story when I attended a lecture by the famous Dr. Elisabeth Kubler‐Rose. She said it’s an ideal time to visit the hospital between 3:00 am and 6:00 am in the morning—a dark and lonely time when the sleeping pills wear off. Then the patients often experience depressive worries about their health, their families and their future.
