In October 1932 a vision was born for Stockport and the North West in the form of a Super Cinema and Variety Theatre with a sumptuous Café that would evoke the glorious glamour of the era in a building that was a palace for the giant silver screen, the greatest stage productions and delightful fine dining for the entire family to enjoy. Over 80 years later we are still providing you with this service in the finest Art Deco surroundings.

This brochure that you are holding contains information about a host of sensational big screen and live stage events including this year’s blockbusting family pantomime ‘PETER PAN’ which stars the truly ‘nastiest’ Captain Hook imaginable played by the fabulous known to millions of TV fans as ‘Nasty’ Nick Cotton from Eastenders.

2016 has seen the launch of ‘The Green Room’ for superb cabaret style events and the success of this wonderful performance locale goes from strength to strength whilst our Silver Screen Film Concession which we also launched this year can be found on a number of the cinematic presentations detailed in this brochure.

A NIGHT IN VENICE BY CANDLELIGHT Saturday 18 th June at 7.30pm

The next in the series of World On Stage’s classic opera series, TICKETS and from the producers of Magical Mozart and A Viennese £18.50 Strauss Gala is this glittering Opera Extravaganza. Tailor-made for women, The Naked Truth is the hit comedy play TICKETS from Dave Simpson, the writer of the smash-hit comedy “Girls £20.00 Night Out”. The Plaza is located on Mersey Square in Stockport town centre, across from the Merseyway Shopping Centre and our postcode if using SatNav to reach us is SK1 1SP or type in Mersey Square.

We are five minutes walk from Stockport Train Station, next to Stockport Bus Station and across the road from the taxi rank on Chestergate.

Designated on-street parking is available in most of the streets surrounding the Plaza and this is free of charge after 6.00pm. Parking is also available on the Stockport Exchange or Ritz car parks.

Concessions

Many shows offer discounts for senior citizens (patrons ages 65 years or over), students, children (aged between 1 and 16 years of age) and other concessions on the production of relevant proof of ID. Always ask the box office at the time of booking as we cannot discount on tickets already purchased. Only one concession is available per ticket.

Hire the Plaza

Restoration Donation

At point of booking you will be asked if you would like to donate £1 to the ongoing maintenance and restoration appeal. As the Plaza has no forms of external funding these donations assist us in preserving and restoring this Art Deco gem, so thank you in advance if you are able to support us.

Refunds or Exchanges

We regret that we cannot refund or exchange tickets. The box office can try to re-sell them subject to a £1 per ticket exchange fee, on the understanding that the sale of the Plaza’s own available seats takes priority.
