Chrysler Canada Announces September Sales Contact: Mary Gauthier Chrysler Canada Announces September 2008 Sales Chrysler Canada sales up 1 percent in September over 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup sales up 48 percent for the month Calendar-year-to-date Dodge Ram sales hit all-time record of 33,752 units Chrysler LLC unveils three state-of-the-art electric vehicles September 30, 2008, Windsor, Ontario - Chrysler Canada today announced sales of 17,112 for September, an increase of 1 percent over the same month last year. The Company’s sales of 179,411 for the January through September period remain at the same high level as 2007 (179,873). "In spite of the global credit crisis, Chrysler Canada has succeeded in separating itself from the herd by offering creative financing options," said Reid Bigland, President and CEO of Chrysler Canada. “Our response to consumers’ needs has fueled a sales growth unmatched by any of our major competitors. Chrysler Canada has posted sales increases in 24 of the last 26 months. Just like our all-new Dodge Ram truck, we never back down from a challenge.” The announcement last week that Chrysler LLC and its ENVI organization are well into the development of three production-intent electric vehicles sent a jolt through the market. This advanced electric-drive technology will be packaged in three different vehicles – one for each of its brands, Chrysler, Jeep® and Dodge. One of these models will be selected to be produced in 2010 for consumers in North American markets. September Sales Highlights The Dodge Ram 1500 recorded sales of 2,393 for the month, an increase of 48 percent compared to September, 2007. Calendar-year-to-date (CYTD) sales of the Ram reached 33,752, an all-time record for the vehicle. “We had another fantastic month with the Dodge Ram,” said Dave Buckingham, Vice President of Sales. “The all- new 2009 Ram has started to hit the showrooms and it is already proving to be a success beyond our expectations.” Sales of the legendary Jeep Wrangler set a new record for the month of September, with sales of 1,439, almost double last year’s record of 738. Calendar-year-to-date sales of the Wrangler are up 21 percent over 2007. The Dodge Grand Caravan and Chrysler Town & Country maintained their momentum among Canadian consumers, recording September sales of 3,725, more than double the 2007 level of 1,765. For the January through September period, sales of Canada’s most popular minivans have reached 35,243 (2007: 21,740). The Dodge Journey was once again the best-selling crossover in Canada, with unit sales of 1,062. Sales of the fuel- efficient Dodge Avenger were up seven percent over last September, posting sales of 627 (2007: 589). October Sales Promotions Chrysler Canada will continue the innovative "We'll Pay Your Way" initiative for the month of October. Under this program, the Company will pay all monthly purchase or lease payments through the end of 2008. This program covers nearly all 2008 model vehicles (excluding Dodge Sprinter and Challenger), as well as the 2009 Dodge Caliber, Jeep Compass, and Jeep Patriot. This program has been enhanced in October with the addition of Bonus Cash up to $2,500 on 2008 Dodge Ram 1500, Ram Heavy Duty, Grand Caravan, Chrysler Town & Country and Jeep Wrangler. The best prices of the year are available with up to $12,250 off a 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 and over $10,000 off a 2008 Ram Heavy Duty and Chrysler 300C. A highly equipped 2008 Ram 1500 Quad Cab® SLT 4x4 with 20-inch wheels, chrome grille, HEMI® engine with fuel-saving Multi-Displacement System (MDS), air conditioning, automatic transmission, power equipment package, SIRIUS Satellite Radio, and more starts at $26,998. A new 2008 Dodge Caliber, offering 42 miles per gallon (highway) is available from $12,750, and the 2008 Jeep Patriot can be purchased for a starting price of $14,745. In addition, the Dodge Charger has become the 10th Chrysler Canada vehicle to be offered for under $20,000 in the month of October. This offer is for a well-equipped 2008 Dodge Charger with 3.5L V6 engine delivering 37 miles per gallon (highway), air conditioning, automatic transmission, power windows, locks and mirrors, Electronic Stability Program, and more. Other Chrysler Canada vehicles available for under $20,000 include Dodge Caliber, Jeep Compass, Jeep Patriot, Jeep Wrangler, Dodge Ram 1500, Chrysler PT Cruiser, Chrysler Sebring Sedan, Dodge Avenger, and Dodge Grand Caravan. -###- Additional information and news from Stellantis are available at: https://media.stellantisnorthamerica.com .

  • To All Chrysler Employees, Dealers, Suppliers and Other Stakeholders
To all Chrysler employees, dealers, suppliers and other stakeholders: With this week’s announcement of our nonbinding agreement for a strategic alliance with Fiat, I want to update you on where we stand in our continuing efforts to manage our business through the current economic downturn and put Chrysler on a path to long-term success. This potential alliance has the opportunity to greatly benefit America by preserving American jobs, stabilizing the economy including the important domestic auto industry and expanding the availability of small, fuel efficient automobiles. Throughout this process we will work with the U.S. government to ensure Chrysler meets all the terms of the U.S. Treasury loan agreement, including the submission of a restructuring plan that assures Chrysler’s long-term viability, timely loan repayment and energy efficiency. It is important to note that no U.S. taxpayer funds would go to Fiat. Our Vision, Mission and Strategic Framework Continues One year ago, we began our first full year as an independent company with a three- part strategic framework to help focus our efforts and align our resources toward our goal of returning to profitability. The framework is comprised of three basic principles: Enhance our core: invest in product enhancements; strengthen our customer focus; improve our relationship with our dealers; and recommit the entire organization to a new level of quality. Extend our business: develop or establish partnerships to provide new products; build off of existing products to extend into new segments; explore new and adjacent market opportunities; and accelerate new technologies and innovation. Expand our market: pursue global alliances to fill gaps in our product portfolio and open new geographic opportunities; increase global sales by building from our existing dealer network; and invest closer to our global customers by enhancing regional business operations and global engineering centers.
