Lamanai “submerged crocodile" Jungle River Adventure Enjoy a delightful continental breakfast as you wind your way through the Northern River to a village named Bomba, here you will see a rich variety of flora and fauna. Once at Bomba village you will board a private bus that will take you through several quaint villages as you make your way to the ruins at Altun Ha. Once in the River, we will serve a light breakfast while you encounter wildlife such as crocodiles, iguanas and howler monkeys. When we reach Manatee Lookout we board a private bus with a guide who takes you to Jaguar Paw. At Jaguar Paw, you travel through the jungle to the Zip Line, where you climb to the first platform. From there you “Zip” through the dense tropical rainforest canopy in eight different stages. After about an hour and a half, you return to the resort lunch. After lunch, your guide takes you along a 40 minute jungle trail up to the entrance to Xibalba caves. Belize Zoo Belize Zoo is upon 29 acres of tropical savanna and exhibits over 150 animals, representing over 45 species, all native to Belize. The zoo keeps animals which were orphaned, rescued, born at the zoo, rehabilitated animals, or sent to The Belize Zoo as donations from other zoological institutions. Come and see animals indigenous to our country, such as Tapir, Keel Billed Toucan, Jaguar, Crocodile, Jabirus Stork, Scarlet Macaw, and much more in a nature habitat atmosphere. Xunantunich contains three ceremonial plazas surrounded by house mounds. It was first opened in 1938 after centuries of neglect. As the first Maya site to be opened in the country it has attracted the attention and exploration of many other archaeologists over the years. Located across from San Jose Succotz Village; eight miles from the western border, this site can only be reached by a hand-cranked ferry across the Mopan River. It is the single most popular day trip from San Pedro, perfect for snorkeling. Hol Chan is Mayan for 'little channel." The entire reserve focuses on a cut through the reef (called a quebrada) which is little more than 25 yards wide and 30 feet deep. Over 160 species of fish have been identified in the reserve, along with nearly 40 species of corals, 5 sponges, 8 algae’s, 2 sea grasses, 3 marine mammals and 3 species of sea turtle. Annexed to Hol Chan is Shark Ray Alley. Nurse Sharks and Rays have a great tolerance for snorkelers and seem to enjoy the human interaction. Caye Caulker Day Sailing (catamaran) This delightful day begins as you gently sail to Hol Chan Marine Reserve where we have the first snorkel stop. After that spectacular snorkel, we head on to Shark Ray Alley where you will encounter sharks and rays in their natural habitat for another great snorkel stop. Once back on board, settle in for the sail to San Pedro’s neighboring village of Caye Caulker, where you will have Lunch in any of the quaint restaurants (lunch not included). Having spent a couple hours having lunch and familiarizing with the area, we head back to San Pedro. Mexico Rocks and Robles and Beach BBQ (speedboat) Ambergris Caye is 27 miles long, and San Pedro is concentrated in only an 8 mile section. Robles is about 20 miles north of town. Your day to Robles begins as we make way north along the coast of Ambergris Caye. Your first stop is to snorkel at Mexico Rocks, with its coral formations and colorful small fish. Then we head on to Robles, where we will stop on a pristine stretch of beach where the reef almost touches the island. Here you can snorkel the reef or explore the deserted beaches in both directions. While you are snorkeling or exploring the expanses of beach, our guide prepares a delicious Beach BBQ for you. Lunch includes BBQ chicken, roasted potatoes, pasta salad and brownies. After lunch you will have time to relax in a hammock under the shade of a coconut tree or go for another swim.
