2844 - The saying goes “there is nothing new under the sun” but the function of design is to draw from, reinterpret, and recast the old into the new. Our contemporary Dolce chair draws inspiration from the simple forms of the late 20th century. Working with a gently curved and extended back, we kept things simple yet elegant by ending with a modified Duncan Fiffe leg at the rear, and a gently tapered leg at the front.

Hepplewhite’s “Guide”, which had so great an impact that all furniture resembling its designs are often referred to as Hepplewhite style. It made its author’s name a household word, especially in America, where it influenced the makers, as in Artistic’s Jefferson frame of the Federal Period. 2549 - Our Antoine Pull Up chair represents an historic precedent in design. It represents a vision towards the future rather than an interpretation of the past. The frame sits on four tapered cylindrical upholstered legs with exposed ends. The finely shaped inside back features a standard diamond patterned center stitched design. 2836 - The Sene chair was fashioned by craftsman from an original produced in the latter half of the 18th century and modified by replicating the interior carving on the outside back. Jean Baptiste Sene, a French master furniture maker, was the creator of a frame which expressed, in superb craftsmanship, the stylistic qualities of the period.
