Carroll Mansion Phoenix

Press Release

The spirits return for another family-friendly “Halloween Hauntings” at the ! On October 25 th (6:45 - 10:00pm); 26 th (6:45 - 11:00pm); and 27 th (6:00 – 11:00pm) Carroll Museums, Inc. will present its second annual Halloween event at the home of Charles Carroll of Carrollton, last surviving signer of the Declaration of Independence. Proceeds will assist with the restoration and revitalization of this historic Baltimore landmark.

Over the course of its 200 year history, the Mansion has served as a home for the Carroll family, a tavern, a tenement, a sweat shop, a school, and a recreational center. This year’s Halloween Hauntings will delve into the Mansion’s Saloon history of the 1880s. Visitors will sleuth their way through the house to solve the untimely death of a Carrie Nation disciple. The history of the temperance movement and saloon will come to “ghostly” life as the dwelling’s most fascinating spirits recount their versions of the tragic event.

This is not a typical haunted house full of blood, guts and gore or Hollywood's frightful characters on hand to fray the nerves. A few drops of blood will set the scene for this 2007 murder mystery ghost tour based on the hatchetations of saloons at the turn of the century by Carrie Nation and her followers. The tour brings fact and fiction together for a unique “edutainment” event.

Tickets are $10 for adults, $9 for seniors 65 and older and military with an ID, and $6 for children 7-12 years of age. This event is not recommended for children under 7 years old. Group rates are available. Group tours will be scheduled for October 25th and 26 th , and from 6-7 on October 27 th .
