Animator/co-director Michaël Alcaras drew frame-by-frame over live footage of the band recording the song in studio (shot by the video’s other co- director, Stella K), and turned it into an eye-popping four minutes and forty-five seconds. The Snarky horn section suddenly have animal heads; band members shoot lasers from their eyes and tall buildings dance along to the song’s hypnotic grooves. “Bad Kids to the Back,” a “crisp, strutting” (Rolling Stone) track written by Snarky Puppy member Justin Stanton, comes from the group’s upcoming album Immigrance, out March 15th on GroundUP Music. A global touring dynamo who have played to thousands of fans at shows on six continents, Snarky Puppy will embark on another ambitious world tour in 2019. This weekend, the band will be accompanied by the Los Angeles Philharmonic at Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles before officially kicking off the 68-date world tour April 11th in Osaka, Japan. -

Tomlinson left it in his will that his estate should be turned into public buildings for the city after his wife also passed. It read " He passed on November 14, 1870. His wife made a contract in 1871 by which the city would take ownership of the property and she would receive $7,000 per year until her death. Tomlinson Hall was then constructed in 1885–86. The approximate cost of the building, with running water and heating, was $137,500. On January 30, 1958, a four- alarm fire engulfed the building. Despite public dissent, the building was razed on July 8, 1958 as it could not be saved. It was not reconstructed. Sunset Terrace: With the end of prohibition in the United States, several night clubs and taverns sprang up along Indiana Avenue after 1933. The Sunset Terrace was one of the many properties within the area owned by brothers Denver and Sea Ferguson. -

During 2013, we further grew our unmatched concerts global fan base by 10 million fans, attracting almost 60 million fans to our concerts. This tremendous growth fueled our sponsorship and ticketing businesses with Ticketmaster managing nearly 4400 million total tickets in 2013. DF Concerts 24/08/2010 19:27 Promoting Business Martin Cloonan (University of Glasgow) and Simon Frith (University of Edinburgh) We are presently in the final year of a three year AHRC funded project on the history of live music promotion in the UK since 1950. Our interest is in the ways in which both the economy and the experience of live music have been affected by the social, cultural and technological changes in Britain over the last 60 years and our project is thus deliberately ambitious in scope. Here we want to focus on one aspect of the research: the nature of live music as a business. This interests us partly because it is a neglected topic (in as far as people have examined the economic history of music in Britain since 1950 they have focused on the rise—and more recent fall—of the record industry) and partly because the common sense knowledge of live music is so contradictory. The anonymous peer reviewer of one of our team’s academic papers dismissed the claims we made for promoters’ economic importance, on the grounds that, as everyone knows, promoters are just crooks and chancers, an interesting remark in the light of the rise in the last decade of the US corporations, Live Nation and AEG, who are now the dominant players in British live entertainment. Even during the course of our research media reporting has moved from gloomy accounts of live music venues closing to excited assertions that they are booming. What is clear is that the live music is an unusual kind of business and in this paper we will examine its peculiarities and their effect on its history.
