For the students that completed and turned in their Unit 11 and/or Unit 12 math tests, there will be a special Zoom call on Wednesday at 7:00 (use the same link as our regular Zoom calls)! And, if you turned in BOTH Unit 11 and Unit 12, please be sure to send a Kahoot question and picture to Mrs. Soule via ClassTag before our Tuesday Zoom call so that she can put together a Kahoot game to play with YOUR questions. It can be anything on any topic (school appropriate, of course)!

These students should know who they are because the list has been read a few times, but, just in case, Mrs. Soule will read the list of students invited during the Zoom calls on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Monday, May 18

NO ELA/SS ZOOM CALL TODAY! Get your work done in the morning, and enjoy your Monday afternoon!!!

ELA: I am still working on your personal narratives. Once I finish editing your work, I will send you an email or ClassTag message. I’ll be sure to put the date I would like to see your final draft.

I am excited to say that we are moving on to our reading of LITTLE WOMEN!!! Before I left school, I copied the first 9 chapters of the text. You are welcome to read them on your own, but we’ll be reading through each chapter together on the Zoom calls. I’ll choose students to do a dramatic read-aloud on each call. We’ll stop and talk to make sure everyone is comprehending. This will be the closest to a school environment we can get through distance learning. I hope you’ll take this journey with us! Start today by reading the Introduction and taking notes. Please send me a copy of your notes.

SS: While we have begun a new unit, I thought we should take a pause since there will be no Zoom call today. Try doing this challenge activity from our last unit. You will probably need to find your Civil War reader to aid you. Send me a ClassTag message when you finish.

ELA: Read Chapter 1 of Little Women on your own and/or join us on the Zoom call read-aloud. Use this four-square graphic organizer for keeping track of our main characters. If you cannot print it, then use your own paper. Divide one side of each sheet of paper into four squares, and put the character’s name in the center of the page where the four squares meet. Label the top left square: physical characteristics; the top right: character traits; the bottom left: burdens; and the bottom right: miscellaneous. At the end of chapter one, you should have a page for each of the characters we read about. Send me ONE of your pages.

SS: Fill out this Google Form as you read Chapter 5 “Adjusting to Life on the Plains” and/or watch the read-aloud video. As always, if you have trouble with the form, send me the answers some other way.
