After the completion of this series on Monday, concluding the six-game road trip, the Quakes will head back home to open a 2ND HALF STANDINGS six-game home stand, starting with a three-gamer against Inland Empire and then another matchup with the Ports. NORTH W L PCT GB VS STOCKTON: This is the ninth of 16 total meetings between the Quakes and the Ports and the sixth of 10 games to be played Visalia 17 13 .567 - at Banner Island Ballpark. So far in 2019, Rancho holds the advantage over Stockton, taking five out of the eight tilts. His first slam CAL LEAGUE SCOREBOARD came 12 games into the season on April 18th, serving as his first overall home run as a Dodgers farm hand. Fast forward to July 21st, YESTERDAY where the Colombia native has 15 jacks (second most on the team) and 60 RBI (most on the team). On Saturday, Downs fell a triple shy of the cycle, going 3-for-5 with two runs scored. They kicked off the month with a nine-game win streak and made it to a season-high 22 games Visalia at Lake Elsinore, 5:00 PM over the .500 mark, following a win over this Stockton squad on July 13th. With 10 games left this month, Rancho needs just one Lancaster at San Jose, 5:00 PM more win to clinch their fourth-straight winning month (April: 16-10, May: 15-12, June: 14-12). Modesto at Inland Empire, 5:35 PM FORE, CAL LEAGUE!: Donovan Casey has been red-hot this month, inserting himself into serious consideration of the Cal League Rancho Cucamonga at Stockton, 6:10 PM MVP. In July, Casey is hitting .333 (22-for-66) with 16 RBI, four jacks, four doubles and two three-baggers. After last night’s 1-for-4 performance against Stockton, the Stratford, NJ native is slashing .281/.348/.521 with 59 RBI, 17 home runs, 17 doubles and eight TOMORROW triples in a team-high 349 at-bats. Visalia at Lake Elsinore, 11:00 AM MICHAEL GROVE: The Wheeling, WV native, RHP Michael Grove toes the slab for Rancho on Sunday night, making his 17th start Lancaster at San Jose, 12:30 PM on the year. In 2019, Grove has pitched to a 0-4 record with a 7.17 ERA. Grove’s last start came on the July 15th, against Stockton, Modesto at Inland Empire, 6:00 PM as he tossed 2.2 innings, allowing three earned runs on three hits, while notching three strikeouts. In an eventual 6-4 defeat for the Rancho Cucamonga at Stockton, 7:10 PM Quakes, the right-hander was saddled with his fourth loss of the campaign. The last start for Grove marked his first-ever start against Stockton, making today’s start his second outing against this ball club in his young professional career. The Los Angeles Dodgers drafted Grove in the second round of the 2018 draft. 2019 QUAKES AT A GLANCE XAVIER ALTAMIRANO: Right-hander Xavier Altamirano makes his 18th start and 20th overall appearance of the year for Stockton 1st Half Record: 41-27 in game two. In his last outing versus Rancho (July 15th) he earned the win, allowing three runs on six hits over five innings in the 2nd Half Record: 18-12 aforementioned 6-4 victory over the Quakes. Sunday evening’s start will be the second time in Altamirano’s career that he faces Ran- vs Stockton: 5-3 cho, despite it being his second stint in the Cal League. The Douglas, AZ native has a 5-5 record, accompanied by a 4.59 ERA so far in his fifth professional season. Altamirano was drafted by Oakland out of Oral Roberts University in the 27th round of the 2015 draft. vs STK Home 1-2 ROSTER MOVES: On Sunday, the Quakes placed OF Niko Hulsizer and LHP Austin Drury on the Injured List, while also sending vs STK Road 4-1 C Stevie Berman to AA Tulsa. The corresponding moves are activating INF Brandon Montgomery and LHP Austin Hamilton from Home Record: 24-22 the IL, and promoting C Chase Barbary from the Arizona League Dodgers.
